“As hard as it may be to believe, the long term the behavioral and medical problems related to marijuana usage are now actually worse in the part of Washington State we live in.”
Worse than previous, or worse than alcohol?
Asking legitimately.
I am sorry... yes, I believe that marijuana is now a much worse problem in Washington State than alcohol. This is largely because of the amount consumed, its potency and the large number of people who are obviously addicted. I have witnessed this through my experiences working, acquaintances, friends, neighbors and loved ones. Many people have told me that they are willing to give up anything but marijuana.
A guy who was my driver moved to Florida with his wife eight years ago. They could no longer get marijuana. When we visited; they begged us to send them marijuana through the mail. It turned out that they had been growing and selling marijuana up here and they were told to get out of the state or lose everything. This is someone who has a good retirement.
Since that time, he has gone into severe cognitive decline and his wife is having severe mental issues as well which my wife and I believe are related to their long-term pot usage. They are now able to get “medical marijuana” in Florida, so they are both back in that lifestyle.
