Lt. Gov. John Fetterman of Pennsylvania and Mehmet Oz, the celebrity television doctor, collided Tuesday in one of the most closely watched debates of the midterm campaign. The Pennsylvania Senate matchup was both highly personal and unusual, as viewers watched Mr. Fetterman, a Democrat, rely on closed captioning to accommodate for the lingering effects of a stroke he had in May.
Mr. Fetterman set out to show Pennsylvania voters that he is ready to serve — and to take on a Republican opponent who has recently gained ground in a race that could decide control of the Senate. He repeatedly called the Republican a liar, invoking what he called “the Oz rule — that if he’s on TV, he’s lying.” Dr. Oz didn’t hold back either, casting Mr. Fetterman as “extreme” and accusing him of misrepresenting his positions......
- Fetterman is asking voters to bear with him.
For many voters, the debate was their first extended chance to see what Mr. Fetterman looks and sounds like after his stroke. He could sound halting, sometimes jumbling words, using the wrong one, and occasionally sounding off-key. He opened the evening by saying, “Good night.”
- Swing-state Republicans are still struggling with abortion questions.
- Oz pins Fetterman to his progressive past.
- Both men use relatability and real estate as cudgels.
- Both men largely stood by their party leaders.

Or the mental health crisis in America is beyond repair. The fact is that Fetterman is in capable of doing entry level jobs, who would want him setting policy? I guess the people that vote for him simply want a reliable Schumer liberal vote.
Listening to Fetterman I thought I was getting a migraine. Oz was not my first choice. But he definitely gets my vote.
Or that more than 50% of folks are batshit drug addled crazy .
I watched the debate and at several points, Fetterman simply had no answer— dew a blank. Then he would just say something like “Dr Oz is lying.” Not even the turd polishing experts at the Slimes can make this one shine.
That and this defective “candidate” is just a place holder for the one who couldn’t be elected.
Next up reporting by the media: “republicans are soooooo mean, picking on the handicapped! So vote for John Fetidwoman, cuz the handicapped deserve a voice too!”
Pennsylvania Senate Debate
Mehmet Oz showed up and the democrats brought a hat rack.
Pennsylvania Ping!
Please ping me with articles of interest.
FReepmail me to be added to the list.
Oz's answer is that abortion is a decision left to the doctor, the patient, and the state. Democrats want it to be a decision between the doctor and the patient so whether it's a perfect answer depends on your point of view.
How do you look at sitting senators like Feinstein and Grassley and candidates like Hershel Walker and say that Fetterman is less able to serve as a senator than they?
It is a State issue, as ruled by the Supreme Court. Roe v. Wade was overturned on that basis. Oz stated, (over and over), that it was a decision arrived at between the Doctor and his patient, and that the Federal Government should not be involved. To me, that is a perfect answer. Roe was always un-constitutional. Democrats have made it a “moral” issue and have bequeathed the Federal Government the right of intrusion on every aspect of our lives. The argument against Roe v. Wade should always be a State vs. Federal basis, not a woman’s “right to choose” (based on what?)
It seems that the greater the job in American politics, there fewer the qualifications. Other than those set forth in the constitution for basic eligibility, all you really need is a pulse. Fetterman has some cognitive problems, but at least he still has that pulse.
No, he stated it was between the doctor, the patient, and local government. Fetterman wants it between doctor and patient. That's the difference the two are trying to make.
Will the dems stuff ballots like Joey’s diapers? Yes
State issue. You said local, as in State. I listened very carefully and he addressed it as a Federal vs. State issue. Maybe you heard something else.
The lump took a back seat, he may have won the debate if they allowed him to speak
