In a newly released audio clip, former President Donald Trump can be heard boasting about how much tougher he was than his predecessors when he was being impeached.
CNN obtained audio files from veteran journalist Bob Woodward's conversations with Trump, during which Trump compared his own impeachment to former presidents Richard Nixon and Bill Clinton.
Woodward met Trump 20 times from 2016 to 2020 and recorded over eight hours of audio. Woodward is releasing the audio in his upcoming audiobook, "The Trump Tapes: Bob Woodward's Twenty Interviews with President Trump."
"There's nobody that's tougher than me. Nobody's tougher than me," Trump said in an undated clip aired on CNN on Tuesday.

Nixon was paranoid, Clinton lied, and Trump fought back.

No President has ever boasted before. It’s a first in American history.

Great summary. Nixon caved in to the bloodthirsty mob almost immediately.
I am constantly amazed at Trump’s fortitude against the thoroughly evil, never-ending onslaught. He has every right to crow about it. People love him precisely BECAUSE he fights back against demonic forces.

What a blockbuster. Woodward’s trying to stay relevant before the midterms.

I fondly remember the story about Reagen. A democrat came into his office and railed and ranted for 45 minutes. After he left Reagen said, “I wonder what was bothering him?”

He has every right to be proud, particularly since the whole Russiagate was a giant nothingburger, even more so than Watergate itself.

It’s indisputable.
Of course, it helps when the impeachments are completely bogus.

It ain’t bragging if you really can do something.
Donald J. Trump is a force of nature, with a backbone of titanium and a will of the finest of cutlery steel. And yet they keep trying to test his limits.
Have they learned nothing in a lifetime of observing his capability to rebound from adversity?

President Nixon had several hard years of constantly negative press - every cartoon, every editorial, every evening presentation. He had the hard Left pushing the pro-Hanoi "Peace Movement" filling the streets almost every week. He had nobody to back him but the squishy Republicans who had long since given up on anything in the way of support and the Democrats had won the majorities in the Congress, so conviction was a foregone conclusion.
Nixon resigned because he never had a chance of winning and didn't want to disgrace the Office with a conviction and expulsion.
