RINO Paul Ryan Wants Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to Run for President in 2024

Former House Speaker Paul Ryan, one of the most infamous Congressional RINOs in recent memory, wants Florida Governor Ron DeSantis as the Republican presidential candidate in 2024.

NEW: The GOP 2024 nominee will be "someone other than Donald Trump," said former Speaker of the House Paul Ryan at a closed conference in New York Wednesday afternoon.

According to a recording of his talk, he named DeSantis, Youngkin, and Tim Scott as his three favorites.

— Bradley Saacks (@SaacksAttack) October 11, 2022

Ryan remarked that DeSantis’ tough talk against Disney was “really good for him, from a political perspective,” and that the American Conservative Union is adopting more aggressive posturing against “woke corporations like Walmart” in the years to come.

Other prominent Never Trumpers, neocons and RINOs have suggested that they would be fine with a DeSantis presidential nomination as well:

Can’t wait to watch Biden and DeSantis in a presidential debate. https://t.co/paBF0naP0y

— Meghan McCain (@MeghanMcCain) August 4, 2021

DeSantis should run. So should Pence, Pompeo, Haley, Cotton, Tim Scott, Sununu, Hogan, etc. Credible Republicans with governing experience should challenge Trump. There’s zero reason to nominate Trump again when R’s have a bench & Biden is polling in the 30s. https://t.co/lAWxtq9MjD

Big League Politics has reported on how much of DeSantis’ populist posturing has resulted in little actual success in Florida as the courts overturn his proposed reforms:

Key provisions of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ legislation against wokeness in the workplace have been struck down by a federal court.

Chief U.S. District Judge Mark Walker blocked the “Stop WOKE Act,” claiming that institutional anti-white racism in the workplace is protected by the 1st Amendment.

“If Florida truly believes we live in a post-racial society, then let it make its case,” Walker wrote. “But it cannot win the argument by muzzling its opponents. Because, without justification, the [law] attacks ideas, not conduct, Plaintiffs are substantially likely to succeed on the merits of this lawsuit.”

The law had banned the teaching of critical race theory in the workplace. It banned any teachings or trainings indicating that any “individual, by virtue of his or her race, color, sex, or national origin, bears personal responsibility for and must feel guilt, anguish, or other forms of psychological distress because of actions, in which the individual played no part, committed in the past by other members of the same race, color, sex, or national origin.”

The feds are making it clear that the new national religion of CRT will be protected no matter what the states or the people decide.

Even though the Never Trumpers are demanding for DeSantis to be the 2024 Republican presidential nominee instead of Trump, there does not seem to be much support for this notion among the grassroots America First base.

Poll after poll has shown Trump crushing DeSantis in terms of nationwide support from Republican voters:

DeSantis must be prudent and not allow Never Trumpers and other interlopers get into his ear and convince him to run for the presidency. His time will come, but Trump has to avenge the stolen election and demonstrate the art of the political comeback in 2024.

Maybe he can get his close friend Mike Pence to pimp DeSantis around?

Ryan wants an dust up between Trump and De Santis.

Kiss of death.

A Ryan endorsement makes me suspicious of DeSantis

While Paul Ryan is an idiot, I would take DeSantis any day over the current clown in charge.

I'd imagine RINO Paul Ryan is also a fan of blue skies and sunny days. Doesn't make me automatically suspect blue skies and sunny days. I despise Paul Ryan as the man who wasted two years of GOP control of Congress and the White House. I don't automatically despise whatever he wants.

DeSantis should ignore Ryan.

Paul Ryan is a nothing trying to glob onto someone.

I also like DeSantis for 2028.

Bad people (Ryan) are trying to push DeSantis as a way to shove Trump off stage. I’m not falling for that. I would expect Ryan to end up campaigning for Biden or Harris against DeSantis in the Fall of 2024.

You see Ryan is trying to do what the MSM does about every 90 days with some story they develop to drive a wedge between Trump and DeSantis.

Not effective.

Trust me when I say, the moment DeSantis announces in 2028, Ryan will have a shiv waiting.

Desantis is doing a great job in Florida.
The best way to get him off course is to have him run for president?
Otherwise,I can not believe Ryan is concerned about what is best for America..or he supports a real Republican for that matter.

Ryan is just desperate to do anything he can to try to derail Trump. So he’s trying to create a conflict between Trump and DeSantis. Its not going to happen.

Nah.

Ryan is just trying to join a bandwagon.

Also trying to divide DeSantis from Trump, which won’t happen.

If DeSantis runs it’s a hard no for me. Not the least of which reasons is that he will have taken the advice of David Frum and Paul Ryan. That would instantly tell me who’s side he’s on.

I hope Paul Ryan does not stump for people. I know many MAGA people who simply won’t vote for a person that Paul Ryan supports. That is true of Pence as well. They can stump for Lyndsey Graham if they want. But if he comes here to Wisconsin, he is likely to cost more votes than he gets.

Well, to see these polls, it seems clear, that Trump will be the nominee if he wants to run again.

Any talk about other nominees is pointless, until we see what decision Trump makes about 2024.

Scared of Trump. The entire political machine is aligned to keep Trump out. All the more reason to make sure he becomes the president again. He’ll set the stage for DeSantis. IMHO Desantis won’t be as effective unless Trump softens the battle space first.

And the fix is in - I’m still out on DeSantis being a RINO “ringer”. But this doesn’t help.
