Reasonable People Won't Launch War: One of the Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ:TSLA) CEO’s Twitter followers on Friday quote-tweeted a Reuters story on the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) starting nuclear drills with B-52 bombers on Monday.
Responding to him via tweet, Musk suggested no reasonable person would launch a nuclear war.
Russia has the ability to destroy USA & Europe utterly with nuclear missiles in less than 30 minutes & vice versa.
A surprising number of people don’t know this.
Of course, it would be MAD to use them, but it is also MAD to be in this situation at all.

Wrong history from the Putinists (again). RuSSia massively supported N. Korea, N. Vietnam, Cuba, and by extension Grenada. They also had Iraq on its side for decades and tried to make Afghanistan a puppet state.
In Korea, they actually dressed up in N. Korean uniforms, flew the MiG jets and fired upon US pilots.
Actually Biden is trying to blackmail Zelensky into accepting at least some of RuSSia’s demands.
Correct, because its generally cleaner to address one point at a time. And because you didn't even attempt to defend that first part of your post in this response, I assume you agree that we never demanded the surrender of Cuba in the Cuban missile crisis.
So on to your second point, because that's where I figured we'd end up all along:
...about the US exploding TWO nuclear bombs over Japan and slaughtering huge numbers of civilians, to force Japan to surrender....
That's correct. So do you consider us using two nuclear bombs to end the war that Japan started morally equivalent to Russia telling Ukriane "cede a large portions of your country to us permanently, or we will nuke you?"
Because prior to this war, I never dreamed I'd hear anyone but a stooge of Moscow equate our desire to end World War II with minimal bloodshed with the first use of nuclear weapons to acquire permanently the territory of other nations.
Nope.
And you don't explode two nuclear bombs to wipe out hundreds of thousands of civilians just because you want to end a war in Japan earlier, and only you have nuclear weapons at the time.
Funny we were calling the Japanese “uncivilized” at the time.
Wow. An apologist for Japan’s conduct in WW2. That’s probably a first in FR
Yes, Elon is so right he’s inspired a new tagline.
Screw pff.
Crimea is Russian. Full stop. If the world didn’t obstinately refuse to recognize it, we probably wouldn’t be where we are right now.
I think you have hit the nail on the head. We have warmongers who tasted blood for 20 years and want more regardless of the cost in blood and treasure. We have incompetent leaders in all sectors of government and the military. We have an elite class who are evil and total idiots with no classical education, just liberal bilge. And we have the globalists who think they actually can control a nuclear exchange to their advantage and that it won’t be that bad if several hundred million people die off.
What possibly could go wrong with the US having these people in charge in a nuclear exchange?????????????????????????????
> Crimea is Russian. Full stop. <
I agree. I have mentioned on other threads that Crimea was Russian for 150+ years until Khrushchev arbitrarily gave it to Ukraine. I believe that was in 1956.
The problem many people (including me) have is that Putin took it back by force. I understand that was the only way. But it is still distasteful.
After all, many nations have quite legitimate claims on territory now controlled by other nations. So if Putin’s move was 100% okay, then violence pretty much everywhere would be okay.
A sensible and just United Nations would have resolved the Crimea problem long ago. But as we all know, the UN is neither sensible nor just.
I agree with your post.
Interesting times
Musk is not a friend of conservatives
Get behind me Satan.
Agreed. Musk is still pushing for more carbon taxes.
It’s a subject I know something about.
Thanks, interesting and not the lease bit surprising.
