No more massive strikes on Ukraine, for now - Putin
BBC MSN ^ | 10/14/2022 | BBC

Russian President Vladimir Putin has said there is no need for more massive strikes on Ukraine, days after the heaviest bombardment of the country since the war began.

He said most designated targets of the strikes had been hit, adding that it was not his aim to destroy Ukraine.

Moscow's goal of mobilising 300,000 men would be met within two weeks, he said.

Mr Putin's words come as Russian forces seem stalled and Ukraine advances, almost eight months since the invasion.

Speaking to journalists after a summit with regional leaders in Kazakhstan's capital Astana, the Russian leader said that the recent strikes had destroyed 22 out of the 29 targets in Ukraine set by the military and that "they are getting" the remaining seven.

"There's no need for massive strikes. We now have other tasks," he said.

He said it was not Russia's intention to destroy Ukraine, but he did not regret the invasion.

"What is happening today is not pleasant, to put things mildly," he said. "But all the same, [if Russia hadn't attacked] we would have been in the same situation, only the conditions would have been worse for us. So we're doing everything correctly and at the right time."

He called Putin a clown! lol>>>> wikipedia>>>
.
.

On 23 August Girkin called Putin a clown.[132] Unlike the liberal and pro-democracy opposition to Vladimir Putin and independent journalists who are persecuted for criticizing the war in Ukraine or Putin, ultra-nationalists and pro-war activists like Girkin are considered untouchable because they are protected by high-ranking members of the military and intelligence services.[133]

After large Ukrainian conteroffensives in September 2022, he predicted a complete defeat for Russian troops in Ukraine.[22] He said that full mobilization in Russia was the “last chance” for victory.[134]

On 12 September, he called the Russian attacks on Ukrainian power plants “very useful”.[135] He also said that Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu should be executed by firing squad and called for the use of tactical nuclear weapons.[133]

Putin preparing for a “goodwill gesture” in Kherson and doesn’t want the hardliners to squawk about it.

Strelkov/Girkin needs to be silenced before Putin’s upcoming “goodwill gesture” in Kherson.

Looking at the scoreboard. The favored team is down a lot and hasn’t put a man on base since the first inning. Whether the Russians can make a comeback is an interesting discussion. But first you have to acknowledge they’re behind. Larry was pushing an interview on Twitter in which the supposed expert (Col Macgregor) says the Ukrainian army has been destroyed. When I countered that point to Larry, he blocked me. He can’t do that on FreeRepublic. Here’s what I asked him on Twitter. I’d love to know what his answer is. Other than hiding behind a block button.

“You won’t answer the simple question which speaks volumes. If the Ukrainian army is destroyed, like McGregor claims, why do the Russians admit they are losing ground in Ukraine? Could it be McGregor is wrong yet again.”

Yeah, you must be referring to this one, another one of those Ukrainian failed offensives that result in horrendous losses.....

“The General Staff continues to accumulate reserves on the Southern Front, at the moment the Armed Forces of Ukraine have assembled a group of 60 thousand, of which half is in Nikolaev and is preparing to strike at Kherson.

The Biden administration is urging Zelensky to storm Kherson in order to retake the city before the 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 and allow the 𝗗𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗰𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 as a symbol𝘀 Zaluzhny advocates a phased campaign, and warns of 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘃𝘆 𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀 during the assault on Kherson, which Russian troops have turned into a 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀.”

“If Putin gets his underground nuke test, then we’ll know that he’s still calling the shots.”

And doing the tests in Arkhangelsk region, which is European Russia. Stupid. Do them thousands of miles East. Putin wanted the tests done in Arkhangelsk to intimidate Finland, Norway and Europe that live close by. Putin the thug knows intimidation backwards, forwards.

I predict no nuke tests, but Putin still mostly in power for now.

Putin said today that he’s going to make a “goodwill gesture” in Kherson. It’s not a fortress. Most of his remaining good troops have retreated to Nova Kakhovka to try to protect Crimea.

—> Putin had 32 types of heart failures, diseases, etc. and was going to die months ago........

Funny how they shift the propaganda narrative.

I’m old enough to remember when The Ghost of Kiev ruled the skies and Putin lost 367% of his generals!

All breathlessly posted by emotional Zeepers.

The “goodwill gesture” is going to be allowing the Ukrainian forces to come to Kherson then level them via massed Russian artillery, etc.

Demilitarization of Ukraine continues on....

My only regret is that I wished I had been cataloguing such stuff via bookmarks, etc. from the get go.

Would have been absolutely hilarious to view the propaganda spewed then and then compared to how it has evolved to now.

And how were you able to read putins mind to know what his motivation is??

simple, because "our actions reveal ourselves"

if you want to know about anyone, study their actions (and non-actions when there should be actions) ... works for people as well as countries

it's the same technique cops use for uncooperative or lying suspects - study the actions and ignore the words

because "actions are expensive and talk is cheap"

(read up on your Sherlock Holmes ...)

So if I listed 5 possible motivations of Putin in not firing all his missiles immediately, how would you read his mind to know which is his actual reason.

At this point, you are choosing your preferred explanation without proof.

Occam’s Razor - “the simplest explanation is always the most likely”

... and simplest explanation here is that Russia is running low on missiles

understand?
