Two police officers were shot and killed and a third was injured after a gunman allegedly ambushed them at a Bristol, Connecticut, home, according to sources.

The Bristol police officers were shot while responding to a 911 call reporting a possible domestic violence incident between two siblings Wednesday night, according to Connecticut State Police.

According to police sources, the gunman then carried out an apparent ambush on the officers with an AR-15-style rifle.

From the article (at the very end): "As of Sept. 27, there have been 49 officers killed in the United States this year -- which is lower than the record last year (73), but higher than the complete year totals for 2020 and 2019, according to data from the FBI."

Clearly, it's Trump's fault.

RIP Ofcr Demonte and Ofcr Hamzy.

Dam. Now guns are killing by themselves. I better go hide the ammo from them.

You’re supposed to look at the article and get hysterical about gun control and banning “assault” rifles.

However, the last paragraph certainly kills that meme. I mean, unfortunately, the meme won’t actually die, but in a perfect world it would.

AR-15s are now capable of self-activating and ambushing police? AI has really made advances.

The last paragraph certainly kills that meme.

One inconvenient fact that rarely gets mentioned in these stores is that more officers die from suicide and high-speed car chase accidents than from criminal gunfire.

I wonder what the pigmentation of the perp was. The headline seems written to make it sound like the guns acted on their own, which raises suspicions.

Funny that I’ve never hear the boneheads in the DNC’s “media” talk about “knife violence” or “baseball bat violence” or “pipe bomb violence” or “claw hammer violence”. Guns seem to have their own special violence.

A shooting by a white-supremacist = "domestic terrorism."

A shooting by a black thug = "gun violence."

Yes, this same basic scenario happened in Kentucky a few months ago and ended with two local police dead and a county deputy and state police officer wounded. That fellow carefully set up an ambush as he knew police were going to serve him a warrant. The perpetrator was a white guy. Could people of all ethnicities who simply hate the police be emboldened by the number of BLM affiliated attacks on police, such as in Baton Rouge, and are now just crossing the line. Many mass shooters seem to be men who cope poorly with life and reach the end of their tether and decide to exact some revenge for ‘the injustice of it all’ before they die. TV reports of events such as this must encourage this disorganized and crazily angry men.

Truly sorry for the cops. While communities and residents aren’t responsible for the behavior of one person, anymore than gun owners are responsible for the actions of one savage with a gun, the folks in America better start waking up to the fact that pretty soon cops aren’t going to show up.

And given the fact that law enforcement agencies from the feds down to the smallest departments are struggling to keep up with attrition, things are looking bleak.

Stock up and train as much as your wallet will allow because ammo still ain’t cheap.

This is nothing but an anti-un hit piece, IMO.

There seems to be a LOT of conjecture about motives, etc. here.

My questions. Did the police ‘announce’ they were police? Were talks ongoing and then they were ‘ambushed?’ How was the 911 call vetted?

There’s a lot about the officer victims’ survivors, etc. but not much of anything else about actual events. Just anti-gun conjecture from what I can see.
