Students at religious schools across the country walked out of class Tuesday to demand widespread changes be made to how LGBTQ people are treated at religious universities and high schools.

Tuesday’s walkouts at more than 50 schools were organized by the Religious Exemption Accountability Project (REAP) and the Black Menaces, a group of five Black students at Brigham Young University (BYU) whose viral TikTok videos show their mostly white peers often struggling to answer questions about race and identity.

...

The walkouts coincide with National Coming Out Day, celebrated each year on Oct. 11, the anniversary of the National March on Washington for Lesbian and Gay Rights in 1979.

Go to a different school.

The world doesn’t revolve around you

Yeah I went to a Catholic school the last few years of high school. Sister Nancy wouldn’t have blinked when she booted me out.

There are religious schools, and there are Christian schools. I doubt that these walkouts are happening in Christian schools.

“Why would they go to BYU? That would be like a teetotaler going to Ohio University, the only college in the country where the students are given breathalyzer tests to make sure they meet the minimum blood alcohol requirements. If you come up too low you are given a couple shots of whiskey and a six pack of beer for the road. :-)”

I have forgotten the name of the Rocker (and Doper) who was asked where the easiest place to by weed in the US was. He replied, “Ave E and Hickory, Denton Texas.” Right across the street from the University of North Texas Campus. Yep, UNT was a party school in the 1970s and 1980s

Over the years, I’ve met a fair number of gay BYU alumni. They typically come from large Mormon families for whom attendance at BYU is pretty much expected for any kid who’s a good student.

Sorry. But there are some who will never feel comfortable among the decent and the rational. Its best if the do leave permanently and keep to themselves. However these deviants have a pathological desperate need to be flamboyant and noticed.

Narcism is a problem in that community. If you are not obsessively self involved that way you are not welcome.

OU in Athens, Ohio is the modern definition of the word bacchanalia.

Gay kids choosing to go to a religious school are obviously there to make trouble. Look at the bakery forced to bake a wedding cake for a gay wedding. Look at Yeshiva University forced to withdraw all its clubs and thus depriving its normal religious students of an important part of the college experience, so that gays can’t have gay clubs on its religious campus. Wanna be a pervert? Do it on your own time and don’t try to impose your perversity on others or try to pass it off as a new “normal”. It ain’t.

“LGBTQ students at religious schools stage walkouts on National Coming Out Day”

All one or two of them. The rest just needed an excuse to cut school for the day.

Left wing agitators have had BYU in their sights since the late 60s. They see it as a citadel of blond blue-eyed white supremacists who are too nice to fight back, thus making them ideal targets. These stooges could go to Brown or Berkeley or somewhere but then they’d just blend right in and no one would notice them.

Private religious schools cost mommy and daddy more than if the kid went to woke public schools. Of course, that won’t do because it’s about getting attention. Look at MEEEEE!!!!

I’d give each one who skipped a big fat 0 for a pop test that counted as 50% of their final grade. The test would consist of “What is your name” so the rest, hopefully, can manage a 100.

Just keep on walking, kids. You are occupying space others could better employ.
