Its very easy to make digital transfers with Paypal...and others, tho I am unfamiliar with those.

The problem will be signing up enough vendors to provide a link to Gabpay on their sites.

Re: "The problem will be signing up enough vendors to provide a link to Gabpay on their sites."

The laundry room in my apartment building (120 units) recently contracted with a Paypal clone I never heard of.

The Paypal clone now has the EXCLUSIVE online payment contract. All the major credit and debit cards no longer work in the laundry room.

I assume the Paypal clone has given my landlord a very attractive transaction fee for exclusivity.

Previously, I would get 2% of my laundry charges refunded by Visa. Now, I assume that 2% is going straight to my landlord.

The Paypal clone is actually a debit card that works only via your cell phone. To use it, I need to fund an account with the Paypal clone. Both my bank or Visa would charge me a cash transfer fee every time I funded this thing.

I said F--- that noise!

Now, I go to my bank every couple months and buy rolls of quarters.

I have not used quarters since the last century. I will keep using them until this Paypal clone goes out of business!

“A parallel economy and parallel society.”

I’ve heard that Dan Bongino and partners have started a PayPal alternative called “Parallel Economy”. Maybe it will catch on.

You get used to words after become familiar.

When paypal come out, it sounded like a playground game or or kids doll dressed up like a loan shark.

Google?
What a weird word. ooogle?
boogie boogle boggle.
Gog gag google magog, put on your googles.

These weren’t cool words. We just got used to them.

That being said, I honestly don’t expect GabPay to take off. I’ll be happy to eat my words and be wrong. I’m not suggesting they fail, but it wont be because of the name.

Gab has branding issues. Nobody outside a few Pepe the frog aficionados are going to trust them with their financial information.

Another option:

Rumble partners with Dan Bongino backed payment processor Parallel Economy to create an economy “free from discrimination”

>> you get used to words/phrases

Agreed. Ultimately the business model matters even when handicapped by peculiar branding.

Gab has been hit with everything the Satanists have come up with and Gab still stands.

Yup. So far. Sadly, much of Gab pretty much depends upon Andrew. If TPTB decide to just kill him, it probably won' survive. I like Gab. Prefer the format of FR better, but I know why it has to be the way it is.

Or RebPay - for financial rebels. :)

Any payment processor relies on the goodwill of the banks and credit card companies. If the directive comes down from Davos not to do business with non-woke alternatives, GabPay won't be able to keep much of an audience.

Why does anyone use PayPal instead of cash app or Venmo anyhow

I can’t understand the benefit of PayPal in the first place. I can write a check, wire money or even use a credit card. Why would I need another third party involved in my purchases & monetary decisions?

Because Paypal does not reveal your credit card info to the seller.
It lets people not worry about their CC number being stolen. It is useful if you are a small internet-based vendor. Buyers do not want to give you their CC number and you can’t really take checks or cash.

Paypal is a very secure way to purchase on a site like Ebay or Craigs List.
