You get used to words after become familiar.

When paypal come out, it sounded like a playground game or or kids doll dressed up like a loan shark.

Google?
What a weird word. ooogle?
boogie boogle boggle.
Gog gag google magog, put on your googles.

These weren’t cool words. We just got used to them.

That being said, I honestly don’t expect GabPay to take off. I’ll be happy to eat my words and be wrong. I’m not suggesting they fail, but it wont be because of the name.

Gab has branding issues. Nobody outside a few Pepe the frog aficionados are going to trust them with their financial information.

Agreed. Ultimately the business model matters even when handicapped by peculiar branding.
