Mass migration has quickly spiked Canadians’ housing prices and rapidly reduced the share of Canadians who can own homes, admits the pro-migration New York Times.
“Basically southern Ontario has become unaffordable” amid a massive inflow of immigrants, real-estate agent Bryan Adlam told the newspaper for an October 8 article, and added:
“I have two clients I have right now whose budget is $500,000 to $600,000, which is not chump change,” he said. “Are they going to be renters for life? Probably. Has owning a home become unattainable for someone on the lower income echelon? I would say, yes.”

Ironic coming from one of the largest media peddlers and advocate of free and unlimited illegal immigration...../s
Yes, a small price to pay for entry into the Smug Club.
If Hispanics turn Republican, the left will be screaming for a border wall... and it looks like Hispanics just might be turning
I lived and worked in Vancouver 1982-85. During that time, mass immigration took place from Hong Kong.
A business friend grew up there and then raised his family in a middle class Vancouver neighborhood.
One day there was a knock on the house door. A real estate agent offered him C$1M - cash - for his house. They did the same for the neighbor’s house.
Both were torn down and one McMansion was built on the two properties.
Money talks even is socialist Canada, eh?
Canadians?
Then just imagine what it’s doing for Americans’ housing costs.
Duh. We already have a housing crisis, so the left’s response is, “Let’s make it worse. Let the peons suffer. Ha ha!”
"With all their beady little eyes and flapping heads so full of lies!"
I’m sure that article did not cover that home ownership is very important to the stability of an area. Investing in a house leads to may desirable traits which only having renters does not.
well, them 2million ILLEGALS gotta live someplace...
Just like over here.
Have the members of the International Power Elite all been dropped on their heads, for Pete’s sake? :-(
Ironically, lack of immigrant Hispanic labor in one of the major reasons for rising housing costs. Immigrants were hard workers, more productive than most citizens for the drywall, roofing, flat cement, etc that they did.
At the start of the anti-illegal movement it was stated and asked. “There is a cost to the anti-illegal policy”. Are we willing to pay that cost?
How did they ever figure that out? Sheer geniuses in New York City and the NYT. They have discovered supply and demand!
Wow! Maybe they will next discover why apples fall out of a tree. People have been puzzling over that for centuries.
And suppresses wages.
Oh gee theres that supply and demand again
Ahhh gee ....
