POINTS: President Joe Biden pardoned all those convicted on prior federal charges, or convicted in the District of Columbia, of simple marijuana possession.

Biden called on governors to follow suit and pardon those convicted on similar state charges.

He has also instructed Secretary of Health and Human Services Xavier Becerra and Attorney General Merrick Garland to begin reviewing how marijuana is classified under federal drug laws.

I’m betting that most affected have other convictions that will render this action moot, except as a headline generator. It may give Governors cover for acting at the State level.

There’s always additional “unintended consequences” to this kind of BS, but a RAT just doesn’t get it or even care.

Don't forget all the whiskey deltas our society has nowadays. Ever notice how many ED commercials we have on TV?

I learned at an early age: if you smoke pot, your banana will rot.

Pardons are just to grab headlines ahead of the election. The part about taking a look at Fed classification of pot is needed. Having pot as a Sched. 1 narcotic along with Fentanyl, heroin, etc is dumb.

Traitorjoe continues to give aid and comfort to the domestic and foreign enemies of the United States.

Waiting for Republican politicians to do something about it....

Our Hoosier Idiot in the governors mansion said he won’t do a thing unless the Feds decriminalization it

But, since we were the last state in the country to allow Sunday beer, it likely won’t happen here for 20+ years

With all the felons back out on the streets the Pedo Rican needs to give them something to do. Keepin’ ‘em high on drugs is right down Biden’s alley.

"Simple marijuana possession": Guessing these convictions that are being pardoned are actually not that simple. I suspect most of these possessions were either a third strike after two more serious convictions, or were not one or two ounces of MJ, but of drug amounts in the trafficking range, or some other factor that puts a lie to the spin.

Exactly. What will the dealers do when set free? Pardoned, many will go to the next level. Fentanyl anyone? How about some good old-fashioned Heroin? Oh, and you need protection and will give to us Cash regularly.

"Who is the fool? The fool or the fool that follows Him?" a line Obi Wan Kanobe said. "Once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny. Consume you, it will." Yoda

"Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it." Jesus Christ referring to Himself as the narrow gate. NKVJ Matthew 7:13.

The trouble is in depending on anything else other than the Savior. All other paths lead to Eternal destruction.

The dealers promise the drug is heaven. But all too many find the reverse is true.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Biden himself smokes the shit all the time. Would explain why he’s brain dead.

I think you’re right. I have never heard of someone going to prison for a small amount of weed. Especially Federal prison.

The charges had to be more serious like possession of a kilogram or so.

As Bill Bennett points out in today’s WSJ, there’s not a single person in federal prison who possessing cannabis for personal use. The 6500 people whom this pardon will supposedly effect were dealers, growers or perpetrators of other crimes for which pot-possession was an add-on to their main crime.

With the drugs he’s allowing to be sold marijuana possession is the least of the problem.

Republicans oppose this at their own peril. Plenty of Red state folks are pot users.

Agreed.
I don’t understand why so many conservatives, believe the federal government should be outlawing the possession of a plant. Whether you use weed or not, I don’t see how someone on the right doesn’t see it as a liberty issue.
Although anti-weed folks dismiss the comparison, alcohol is a much more destructive substance than weed.
