that threatens to cut off annexed peninsula from Putin's reinforcements A huge explosion has hit the only bridge between Crimea and Russia, a crucial supply line for Putin's forces Footage shows the blast following the rail bridge engulfed in flames and the road bridge next to it collapsed
The cause of the explosion is not known but Ukraine has been targeting Russian logistics in recent weeks Footage appears to show a truck exploding on the road section of the bridge as sabotage is suspected
A crucial bridge linking Russia and Ukraine has caught fire in a spectacular explosion in a suspected attack by Ukraine as the country cuts of supplies to Russian forces.
A train carrying fuel erupted in flames on the crossing, built by Vladimir Putin as a key link to the territory he invaded in 2014.
The only bridge between Crimea and the Russian mainland has been vital to the Russian military for supplying Putin's war in Ukraine.
Ukraine has previously threatened to target the bridge and has been damaging Russian logistics in recent weeks.
Footage of the incident appear to show a truck exploding on the road section of the bridge as it drives towards Kerch in Crimea.
It was unclear if this may have been a suicide bomb in a truck but there have been no reports of incoming missiles. Some witnesses claimed there were two explosions .
A voice on one video is heard saying: 'It seems to me there were two explosions, no? -- If it was a missile, it would hit the second [rail] bridge too in any case.'
There were suggestions Putin may address the nation on the bridge explosion amid fears he will unleash havoc on Ukraine.
He has already hinted he could use nuclear weapons in the war with Ukraine.

'Malicious and targeted' sabotage halts rail traffic in northern Germany
I’m at a loss as to how both spans could have been taken out by a single charge.
—
the blast comes from underneath the bridge - a boat bow is visible at the 2 or 5 second mark depending on which video. There was a sea drone that washed up a few weeks ago - it had enough room to pack 1,000-2,000 lbs of explosives. Blast from underneath can easily take out more than one section - there a lot of partially trapped explosive force that has to go somewhere.
The blast rolls up and over the roadway, rising until the ball of flames engulfs the fuel train, which looked, in early shots, to be stationary. The flame ball just rose until it reached the train which was fuel laden and simply caught fire - a very intense fire; no mystery there.
The article may have stated that, but there has been no video surfaced that actually shows it.
The only trucks visible on the videos I’ve see show one truck just entering the scene, and a semi going up the rising part of the bridge.
The blast occurs between them where there is no traffic. The blast rises from beneath the span.
I’ve since seen video of the explosion. Clearly there was one explosion on or under the roadbed. Whether a truck bomb or a drone I can’t say.
Truck bomb is simplest.
As for the train - if it’s just tankers catching fire, that the engineers could bring it to a clean stop isn’t a surprise.
But that an explosion on the road would ignite a tanker car on the train seems like a lucky accident.
We really could use a “like” button around here. :^) Thanks dennisw!
Chechens will break away 5 minutes after they hear Putin is dead. Which will be soon. The far Eastern stans don’t need or like Moscow. I see a YouTube Russian dissident commenter in Uzbekistan who is very happy there.
The driver was a Ukrainian or Russian with terminal illness.

The driver was a very healthy guy with a remote, handling a sea drone laden with several thousand pounds of explosives.
Yes, we don’t know much as of yet. Some are now saying it was a boat.
Info is in flux.
Hahaha - “The name is Bond, James Bond …”
The roadway ••Appears•• undamaged. A force that large will have created major structural and heat damage to more than one section.
Again there is no surface damage to the roadway. Stop frame at the 2 second mark to see boat bow. When viewing filmed explosions, stop frame is your friend.
A truck bomb could not do the damage we see, without major damage to surface of roadway, and likely could not do any of the damage visible.
And putting in a like button here would not steal too much from FR resources. I think. FR looks the came to me as it did in year 2001 when I had the ultimate. A 56K modem. Dial up of course.
Love it an Slava Ukraini! As always.
If you’re referring to those who oppose Russian aggression calling names, you’re standing in a glass house while throwing large boulders. I’ve been called a warmonger, a retard, a Biden stooge, a fag and a motherf*cker by the motley crew of Young Putineers on this forum. I’ve also been told I’ll be “dealt with.” So drop the air of superiority. It stinks.
“The driver was a very healthy guy with a remote, handling a sea drone laden with several thousand pounds of explosives.”
This is how it seems right now. You are right but lets see some more truth revelations this weekend. Will the Ukies in Kiev make a statement?
Give it a rest with suicide attacks. It is not a matter of which side is winning or losing.
Desperate people will do desperate things. That bridge was a military target during a war started by Russia. Sounds like only 3 people may have lost their lives. I seriously doubt any of those 3 were Civilian lives.
Does not look to me like Putin or Zelensky have any desire to negotiate.
Losing that Bridge may Force Russia to reconsider. His Senior staff has to be thinking how far does this go what do we lose next.
Oh the Irony... I’m headed to the airport right now to go there. And then down to Hungary, but not near the Ukrainian border.
I can see the wake of something in the water, immediately before the explosion, so it may well have been the origin.
But it was clearly targeting the road - when the rail is far more important to Russian logistics.
I’d have expected an attack on the rail, and I don’t see how anyone could have expected an attack on the road to take out the rail as well.
It won’t be so funny when he decides to send a few nukes to the US.
