'Unthinkable' That Russia Will be Excluded from Nord Stream Probe, Foreign Ministry Says
MarineLink ^ | October 6, 2022 | Reuters

Posted on 10/07/2022 2:20:57 PM PDT by henbane

Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said the West was purposefully creating obstacles to the investigation and said the exclusion of Russia and Gazprom from the probe showed it had something to hide.

Been keeping up on the latest MSM “news” I see. Then you must have read how the USS Kearsarge was reportedly in the area of the explosions the day before, right? Good thing that’s not suspicious. /s

NASA works together with Russia in space, why not underwater???

The point of a neutral party investigation is that it’s a neutral party, not a vested interest party

Exactly.

This key requirement immediately excludes all parties associated with NATO from any part of this investigation.

Obviously, this Nord Stream investigation is fraught with red-hot special interest concerns by all parties.

The situation seems headed for some kind of inevitable confrontation.

The interesting part will be the repair.

Russia does not have the capability.

DCN Diving in Holland does.

A repair operation could be mobilized rather quickly.

Those pipelines COULD be back in operation in a few months...or less IF it was “allowed”.

I know because I have done over 50 of these type of repairs However, none from a deliberate explosion though.

And 90 meters is nothing today. We did 1200’ in 1982.

That's silly, you don't think the Germans, who are in NATO, want to really find out what happened?

Sweden and Norway conducted the investigation. No one else was involved.

First of all, it is not inside any nation’s 12 mile territorial waters. It is in the Swedish Economic Activity Zone, but that does not allow the Swedes to keep people out. That is a fishing and drilling limit.
The can and should sail right up and investigate.

The fact that NATO is trying to exclude them and will work to impede repairs tell you exactly whodunit.

Thanks! I’ve got a question for you in case you know. Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 each have two pipelines for a total of four.

Do you know how many meters the ‘Line 1’ of NS1 typically is from NS1’s ‘line 2’ in the vicinity of the underseas explosions (i.e., far from shore). And the same question for the two lines of Nord Stream 2. I haven’t been able to find out this information on the internet.

Russia should be excluded from civilization. If they can’t live peacefully with their neighbors (and they can’t), they need to be completely marginalized.

Investigations are supposed to be impartial. With one side conducting the investigation leaving the other out, is not impartial or credible. You already know what their findings will be...lol

The US or England did the sabotage, the only 2 countries with the capability. Russia knows this. Here comes WW3. How pathetic. Every major war that we have been in was started by a fricking democrat, and we have the most demented one in history.

Don’t know exactly. I heard 90 meters.

Does not make a lot of difference. Anything down to about 1000’ is within range of capability today for human intervention.

Norway has a 36” line we installed at 1100’ across the Norwegian Trench off their west coast in 1982 and demonstrated we had the capability to repair it if need be using saturation diving and hyperbaric welding.

It was an all American operation also. :)

Thanks. I was looking for that metric to do an assessment of explosive destruction requirements. 90 meters is a relatively large distance and in water would certainly require two separate charges to take out the two lines. I don’t have the knowledge to do an acceptable estimate of how much HE would be required and its placement but I’m pretty sure two separate dedicated devices (and probably with shaped charges) would need to be in physical contact with the two NS2 lines. And that would be what would be needed to breach into a segment of the pipeline. I don’t know if the blast force required to physically move a portion of the pipeline to cause segment separation would be a smaller or bigger requirement.

There were four [ 4 ] separate explosions, according to the Swedish seismologists.

This would be SOP redundancy, 2 per pipeline.

“Two is one and one is none.”
