If Russia and The Fourth Reich want to nuke each other to ashes, I say let them.
Get our troops and weapons out of Europe and let those two destroy each other.
The arrogance of this question is off the charts.
Like it or not, every major power gets extremely touchy about others intruding into what it perceives as its back yard.
The Brits are that way about Belgium and Ireland.
China is that way about the South China Sea and its immediate neighborhood.
The US is that way about the whole Western Hemisphere.
Russia is that way about the “near abroad”...ie the former Soviet Union.
Its not about whether foreigners think any country “has a right” to be that way. Just understand that all the big boys always are that way. Anybody who thinks is going to be different or that one of them is going to just lay down and take it when others intrude into their backyard is a fool and is inviting a major war.
Ukraine doesn't come close to resembling a democracy or free country. There is NO national interest in Ukraine. The war is occurring because we fomented a revolution and set off a civil war in Ukraine so we turn the country into a money laundering operation for our political class and oligarchs.
Donald Trump has repeatedly said we need to negotiate and end to this war and tell the Ukrainians the must give up land to Russia. That's in everyone's best interested, including those in the areas that are largely ethnically Russian and were just annexed into Russia.
WWI: Woodrow Wilson, Democrat
WWII: Franklin Roosevelt, Democrat
Korean War: Harry Truman, Democrat
Vietnam: Lyndon Johnson, Democrat
I’m starting to see a pattern here.

Instead, the pseudo-elite globalists expanded NATO to Russia’s very borders, the equivalent of Russia or China forging a military alliance with Mexico, Cuba, Canada and the Bahamas.
We would never tolerate that and it's outrageous we or anyone here think the Russians should.
The Biden regime/neocons/globalists are engaging in acts of provocation against Russia for their own gain and risking a hot war with Russia, nuclear war and WWIII in the process. It's outrageous anyone here would defend this madness.
This not an American First foreign policy. It's not Ronald Reagan's foreign policy that sought to free other parts of the world from tyranny.
We have foreign policy for the benefit of our political class and oligarchs that destabilizes other countries and results in the death of tens of thousands. We, under Biden, are the new evil empire.
Fringe globalists and neocons have wormed their way into the highest levels of US policy and planning of the US Empire. Their control is tied closely to our domestic woke-progressive Fed.gov, and fiat, printed money, and massive Fed.gov debt
Its too late to back out easily now.
They have got themselves, and us, into an existential war against the BRICS, led by Russia.
The nitwits in the Biden admin got in this situation by ignoring Ukraine in 2021 while partnering with Putin to nuke up Iran. Putin took that as a green light and here we are. Surrendering now to Russian nuclear blackmail guarantees massive nuclear proliferation around the world and eventual nuclear war. Is that what you really want?

Obama Puts an End to the Monroe Doctrine

A “Monroe Doctrine” isn’t something you have a “right” to, it’s something that informs your foreign policy. Other countries aren’t obliged to honor it, though they have to take it into account. Latin American countries, for example, aren’t obliged to give up their sovereignty because we consider them our special project. As a reality, they sometimes use it to their advantage, and sometimes push against it.
Other countries, like China for example, are not obliged to respect it when striking their deals with Panama, for instance. But again, they have to take it into account. It’s not enough just to buy Panamanian politicians, you need to cover yourself by buying a few US politicians while you’re at it.
IMHO, with Vlad being KGB deep-down he expected Ukraine to fold fast as the first state to add back in the neo-soviet-union, based on their Crimea response. He really believed that they would want to come back into the new and improved empire. With all of the corruption nurtured by the West (Barry, Hildebeast, turnip-head, Soros, etc.) his calculation was not without substance. Then Balkans, Baltics, Central Asia, etc. would follow.
My bigger question is, being in charge of a police state with consistent, pervasive communist indoctrination, does he still dream of reimplementing Marxist, Leninist economics and social control, striving to “get it right” this time.
If he were more open about that he would have many, maybe a groundswell of supporters in the west and western deep staters.
He’ll, the original Monroe doctrine even suffices. Everyone forgets that it also has us stay out of affairs. Monroe would have been horrified at the idea of America installing a puppet government in Kiev.
The original Monroe doctrine should have protected Russia here!
“As Nuclear War Looms: Does Russia Have a Right to its Own Monroe Doctrine?”
A truly stupid question!
Right? By whose definition of “right”?
The much better question is, does Russia have the force and willpower to get what it wants.
It’s always about power and will. “Rights” are invented delusions.
What would Neville Chamberlin do?
“First, can we discuss a situation that could very well result in thermonuclear war — and the end of life as we know it — intelligently and rationally? Or must all questions about our Dr. Strangelove policy be met with childish name-calling (e.g., “stooge of Putin!”) designed to silence debate?”
You answered your own question you Putin stooge, you.
If Russia is willing to use nuclear weapons in order to subjugate a neighbor, that neighbor was right to seek allies.
And those allies would be right to confront a rogue country willing to use nukes to subjugate a neighbor.
Who the hell said anything about thermonuclear war?
I don't think this pinhead knows what he's talking about because he's suggesting the use of hydrogen bombs, not plain ol' atom bombs. I suspect he doesn't understand that's a whole 'nother category of bomb and mistakenly believes that fission bombs also are "thermonukular" because they get really, really hot.
Not even the most rabidly anti-Rooskie (or pro-Ukraine) military analyst I've seen has suggested Russia intends breaking out the H-bombs.
Nuclear war is not “looming”.
