When a young adult in a New York City suburb visited an emergency department in June after experiencing weakness in their lower legs, the shocking diagnosis would lead local officials to declare a health emergency in New York and put authorities across the U.S. and around the world on a state of alert.
The individual, a resident of Rockland County, had suffered from a fever, a stiff neck, back and abdominal pain as well as constipation for five days. The patient was hospitalized and tested for enterovirus, a family of pathogens that in rare cases can cause weakness in the arms and legs.
New York state’s Wadsworth Center and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention would subsequently confirm the worst: The young adult was suffering from paralysis after contracting polio, the first known U.S. case in nearly a decade and the first in New York since 1990.
The patient was unvaccinated.

Multiple sources told the New York Jewish Week that the man is part of Rockland County’s substantial Jewish community. A local elected official said the same thing in a now-deleted statement condemning those who do not vaccinate, which drew fierce criticism on Twitter from many in the local Jewish community.

Yes, it was an Orthodox fellow. And DNA sequencing showed that the particular strain he had was identical to a strain that has been found in Israel.
Bioterrorists can smear fecal matter on door knobs and other places a person might touch. Just small amounts difficult to see would probably be effective.
The polio vaccine was an ACTUIAL VACCINE and actually worked.

In the history of mankind, we have managed to eradicate a grand total of one human virus, smallpox, and it took about 150 years of vaccinations to do it. We almost managed to eradicate polio after only 75 years of vaccinations, but cases kept popping up in the wild in Afghanistan, Pakistan and parts of Africa.

What if polio has always been around? What if polio is not caused by a virus but is caused by neuro toxic chemicals? What if they changed the name to guillaine-barré syndrome and other names to make it seem polio was eradicated?

Reach your own conclusion, but the vaccine administered in the US and other advanced nations is injected. It used a ‘dead’ virus, and you CANNOT contract polio from it.
In developing countries it is still common to use an oral administration with a *live* virus element. Children *can* contract (rarely) polio from this oral vaccines.
Is it economics or eugeniucs? You make the call.
It is for two economic reasons, first is the oral is cheaper and easier because there is no syringe. The second is based on the existence of modern plumbing and wastewater collection and treatment because the oral vaccine stops viral replication in the gut (it’s natural mode) and thus stops community transmission in places that don’t have plumbing and sanitation.
The dead virus shot prevents the individual from illness, but doesn’t stop community transmission if it’s endemic from lack of sanitation. It can still get picked up and cycle through your gut and you won’t even know because you don’t get sick.
If there is an as yet unidentified animal host, then it polio will never be eradicated. Smallpox was a human only virus which is why we could eradicate it.
