LaToya Cantrell, the controversial Democrat mayor of New Orleans, has said she will repay the city for $30,000 she claimed in city cash for first class flights.
The mayor was forced into the U-turn after a city attorney was brought in who determined that Cantrell, as a city employee, was obliged by policy to seek the cheapest fares or reimburse the city for deluxe expenses.
New Orleans' chief administrative officer Gilbert Montano indicated that he would enforce the policy, prompting Mayor Cantrell to say she would reimburse the city.
'Based on the policy review, however, I will have to reimburse,' she said. 'So I'm moving forward to do that,' without specifying when she would do so.
Cantrell had previously caused outrage when she spent taxpayer money on first class air travel to France and Switzerland and excused it by saying economy class was 'unsafe' for black women...
The under fire mayor is already in hot water after admitting to living in a city-owned apartment in the city's French Quarter rent free.
At first she repeatedly refused to repay the cost of a luxury American Airlines flight from Washington Dulles Airport to Switzerland for herself in July, despite a city ban on luxury air travel.

People get what they vote for...
Good and hard.
it is all about the struggle.
$30,000 to a professional grifter is like $3 to somebody who has to EARN it like me.
Rent free or free to her with the taxpayers picking up the tab? I’m guessing the latter.
By teaching her that victimhood crap?
What an entitled beeyotch.
Living large. Good job New Orleans.
I went there to visit my son last week. It is a dark place. Filthy.
Where's Jermaine and Tito?
Black Democrat Party politicians are probably the worst because no one has the courage to call them out for being among the most corrupt!
Well, Ray Nagin did call it a "chocolate city".
And the suburbs aren't "vanilla" anymore.
I did see a lot of chocolate.
The Chocolate Mayor from the Chocolate City is enjoying her delicious chocolate. She’s untouchable and will do whatever she wants as the Chocolate Queen. Any critics are rassssissss.
WHY does the city OWN A LUXURY APARTMENT???
Now that’s a fact...
You could see the wheels starting to fall off not long after he took office...Trump gave us a short break and showed the way things should be...Then “the trash” crooked it’s way back...
The apartment is in the upper Pontalba building, one of the two historic 1850 red brick apartment buildings flanking Jackson Square. The city owns the whole building, leasing out most of the space, but retaining a single apartment for official hospitality use. Previous mayors have not used it as a crash pad. The $3,000 rent is probably half what the unit would get in the private market, given the location and prestige of the address. Latoya is term limited as mayor, and probably has no path to higher office in Louisiana, so she’s getting while the getting is good. She will need a national Democratic administration to take care of her in the future, if it can overlook her hopeless incompetence and self-dealing.
LaToya Cantrell = Parasite
never a shortage of them
another black person must be gunning for her position...knives are out over her misdeeds including photos of her residing in the apartment
