I thought they were sitting around waiting for someone to do all the cleanup and repairs from the storm years ago

Every once and a while they dredge up that farcical vote among three alternatives: remain a US possession, become 51st US state, or become their own country. Instead of taking the two highest vote getters and holding a runoff, since none of the alternatives ever gets 50%, they end up remaining a US possession.

The Dems want them to be a US state. We want them to be their own country. They are forever stuck in the limbo of US possession.

Yet another problem that our supposed "elites" refuse to solve.

What's the over/under between Puerto Rico sorting its problems vs. those in the Middle East?

So, are all the Puerto Rico baseball people, (like Alex Cora) going to bash Biden like they bashed Trump when they complained the federal aid to PR was enough and fast enough?

That’s the media’s and Biden’s liberal spin and how it will be reported elsewhere. If Trump said the same words, the headlines would all be the same as Breitbart. Biden damns himself with his own words. 2 weeks - no help, just now going to see what they need, haven’t been much help, still haven’t caught up from the last one. In 2020 he said he had the real answers, who has been President for 2 years?

Every PR people I have met have been very nice and hard workers. It’s their government that needs to be overhauled from what I hear and read. Trump sent goods and money to PR by the boatload and the PR governor put it in warehouses and was probably selling it to enrich herself and her friends.

So Bidens solution is to cut a check to Puurto Rico for 60 million to fill their pockets.

He’s draining Gov. funds and any othr source of revenue.

If the pubbies were smart, which know they’ve not, they can compare Florida’s response and recovery to PR’s which we know from history will be abominable.

But they won’t unless DeSantis or Trump before the heavy lifting.

IMO, the very worst part of Katrina was letting all those school busses get flooded & destroyed-—

and NEVER USED to transport people away from the flood waters because “THEY WERE NOT AIR CONDITIONED”

The kids were transported every day for 9 months without ‘air conditioning’ in those busses.

The Mayor then tried to say “The busses were NOT prepared for such use.

ALL THE BUSSES WERE PREPPED FOR SCHOOL TO BEGIN ON MONDAY, when Katrina hit on Sunday.

HE LIED & LIED & LIED.

My wife has aunts uncles and cousins still living on the island: it’s a corrupt political poophole regardless of the party in power down there.

They took very good care of themselves for many many years.

Now they want mega US dollars to compensate themselves for their many many years of graft and corruption. Jose Felatio
stated “ it is difficult work to continually embezzle funds without it being too blatant. Now the US needs to step up and give us the funds necessary to rebuild our electrical infrastructure. Which will, of course, be spread around the well placed officials until all have sated their thirst for US dollars.”
