SEE IT: Harris confronted over 'equity' comments at Congressional Black Caucus gala
Washington Examiner ^ | by Emily Jacobs, Weekend News Editor October 02, 2022 10:37 PM

Vice President Kamala Harris was seen ignoring what appears to be a rogue reporter at a gala over the weekend after he asked her to clarify her comments on "equity" affecting the Biden administration's distribution of Hurricane Ian relief.

The video, released Saturday evening by the Republican National Committee's research arm, appears to have been taken on Saturday evening, as Harris was exiting the 51st annual Phoenix Awards, a dinner hosted by the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation. Both she and President Joe Biden spoke at the event, where they touted their administration's achievements for Black Americans and repeatedly referenced "equity" playing a role in their work. The event came one day after Harris sparked outrage from Republicans over her pledge that the Biden White House would take "equity" into account when divvying up disaster aid.

Harris made eye contact with the man filming the Saturday evening interaction before looking away as he began to ask: "Vice President, can you clarify what you meant about equity for hurricane relief?”

The VP declined to acknowledge the individual, instead continuing to walk away.

Harris made the comments in question while taking part in an event with actress and activist Priyanka Chopra Jonas at the Democratic National Committee's Women’s Leadership Forum.

"It is our lowest income communities and our communities of color that are most impacted by these extreme conditions, and impacted by issues that are not of their own making," the vice president told the movie star. "And so we have to address this in a way that is about giving resources based on equity, understanding that we fight for equality, but we also need to fight for equity, understanding not everyone starts out at the same place."

"And if we want people to be in an equal place, sometimes we have to take into account those disparities and do that work," she continued.

Harris faced immediate pushback for the comments, which came the same day that the White House said it was working with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and the Federal Emergency Management Agency to provide aid to those impacted by the storm, which has caused death and destruction across the state.

One notable objector to Harris's comments was DeSantis's re-election campaign, whose rapid response director tweeted Saturday: "This is false. [Harris's] rhetoric is causing undue panic and must be clarified. FEMA Individual Assistance is already available to all Floridians impacted by Hurricane Ian, regardless of race or background."

There is a thriving industry in poverty hustling. Why, we even ended up with a community organizer getting elected President. The worse thing that could happen to the poverty hustler community is an actual end to poverty.

Yes, she's stupid. So is the potus. Thing is, their constituents are even more stupid.

It's like watching a group of toddlers playing together, pretending to talk, and nobody saying anything intelligible. But they're all in the same boat and nobody notices.

But, back to joe and ho. The ones pulling their strings and in command (no, it is not o'bummer; he was dictated to by the same monsters currently in control) are smart. And devious. And malicious. And dangerous.

Glad someone out there is willing to push back on this insane idea of “disparate impact.”

The word “impact” implies that things just happen, as if the “impacted” groups have no responsibility for the consequences they fave. Nobody in the press ever considers the simple math:

Disparate Choice = Disparate Impact.

You are missing what is happening here.

This is anti-white racism.

The only debate the Democrats are having is how long they get to steal our stuff before they start killing us.

They have ditched the word “reparations” but continue to implement it any way they can without ever admitting that’s what they are doing.

“As a matter of fact, it was Democrat President Lyndon Baines Johnson who stated, ‘I’ll have those [######]s voting Democratic for the next 200 year’ as he confided with two like-minded governors on Air Force One regarding his underlying intentions for the ‘Great Society’ programs.

Yep, and who are the real racists? So far, thanks to a Republican Party that is ignorant of its own history and gave up on the black community, Democrats have 50 of those 200 years under their belt.”

It’s our own fault. Socialist Democrats ALWAYS TELL US what they are going to do. And those our side ELECTS to office, ignore it!

President in Exile Trump had it so right: “Vote for me. What have you got to lose?”

The link you posted also has a link to the “two governors” reference. But that link takes me to a “sorry, that page does not exist” error.

I looked up a bunch of other sources, and those two Governors’ names seem to be scrubbed everywhere.

They were both southern Governors, though.

“There is a thriving industry in poverty hustling. Why, we even ended up with a community organizer getting elected President....”

The job title, “community organizer” was invented in the late 1960s, 1970s and continued for half a century. This was a new job category and title and came along with a paid for big set of sudden jobs created and paid for by CPUSA. The facade explanation was that the army of “organizers” were pulling up the community. The actual job description was for the implanted organizers to incite hatred against whites and the burning and robbery of local white businesses and the murder of small business white storekeepers and the shooting of policemen. Simultaneously to this and intricately tied to the “community organizer” movement was the infiltration of Black Islamists into the prisons of America and the aggressive conversion of Christian Blacks into an”Islam Light” first step into Islam and the incitement of them against whites, Jews, Christians, and America and for Islamic and Islamist societies.

The only reference I could ever find (and, this would have been several years ago) was LBJ supposedly was on Air Force One and made the comment to a journalist. "Off the record", I would guess.

But this is the first I've heard about two governors. I'll keep an eye out for a reference.

Toddlers are cute when they do that.

Liberals? Not so much. They cause depressions, start wars. national turmoil, et cetera.

Yes, and they let the Dems get away with smearing them as racists. The Republican brand has been destroyed forever among blacks.
