The All-American swimmer who became an outspoken advocate for women's athletics after competing against transgender swimmer Lia Thomas is supporting Sen. Rand Paul's re-election bid, and she says Paul is "not afraid to fight for fairness" in a new campaign ad.
"I trained from an early age, giving it my all to achieve my dream," Riley Gaines says in the 30-second ad. "And I accomplished it, becoming a 12-time All-American swimmer at the University of Kentucky. But for girls across America that dream is being taken away by men competing in women’s sports. Sadly, few stood up for me."
"But Rand Paul is not afraid to fight for fairness for women and girls, and that’s why I’m supporting him," she says.
The Kentucky Senator has been an outspoken critic of transgender athletes competing in sports corresponding with their gender identity. "I will always fight for fairness," Paul says in the ad.
Gaines told Fox News Digital in an interview that she thinks the Biden administration is "absolutely not pro-women" and is pursing "regressive" policies.
She said Paul’s support "makes you a lot more confident as someone who is in this position to speak your mind. It means a lot to have someone in his position willing to do that for female athletes, willing to do that for people’s daughters."

I notice that this ad is already causing heads to explode at various media outlets (i.e., “Rand Paul attacks trans athletes,” “Rand Paul takes the low road” etc.). So ridiculous. Mentally ill men & boys are invading women’s sports and cheating, and if you’ve got a problem with that, you’re the villain.
Rand is a fighter, cf. his dealings with Tony Fauci. We need more like him in the Senate and House... and White House.
To Hell with the media outlets. Most are Comcast and Disney surrogates. And those two operations demonstrably hate America
There is no such thing as transgender.
They are mentally confused.
She’s on commercials in Kansas criticizing our liberal governor Laura Kelly.
I wonder if Rand was a swimmer. His father Ron Paul swam for Gettysburg. Ron was my fraternity brother and roommate his senior year. I am also a Rand fan as I was a Ron fan.
I also think Rand Paul is a great senator, but on this particular issue he’s really wasting his time. Letting “transgender” men destroy women’s collegiate sports is probably a good thing in the long run. If nothing else, it will expose the modern feminist movement as a farce and make some of the most absurd applications of DOJ enforcement of Title IX provisions useless.
Yes, Rand stood up for her. And Ron Paul stood up for this country as well.
Rand Paul is the actual “Lion of the Senate”.
Only one of two things will fix this abomination.
1. Give these their own category to compete in
or, and this is what REALLY needs to happen
2. All female swimmers refuse to compete against these gender confused MALES.
Just as soon as conservatives replace the scholarship monies the girls will lose by refusing to compete.
Conservatives
All hat No cattle.
As I understand it ivy league schools like UPENN where this mess started don’t give scholarships.
Boycotting would stop this BS cold......let these MALES swim alone.
If you have a Y chromosome, then you compete against men.
If you have taken testosterone supplements, then you are disqualified.
Riley Gaines has toured around Georgia with Herschel Walker and she speaks at his rallies. She is an intelligent lady and very effective. I wouldn’t be surprised to see her in politics at some point.
“Mentally ill men & boys are invading women’s sports...”
Hooey. They’re grifters jobbing the system being supported by other grifters jobbing the system.
Wow. Thanks
