nflation in August was stronger than expected despite the Federal Reserve's efforts to bring down prices, according to data Friday that the central bank follows closely.
The personal consumption expenditures price index excluding food and energy rose 0.6% for the month after being flat in July. That was faster than the 0.5% Dow Jones estimate and another indication that inflation is broadening.
On a year-over-year basis, core PCE increased 4.9%, more than the 4.7% estimate and up from 4.7% the previous month.
Including gas and energy, headline PCE increased 0.3% in August, compared with a decline of 0.1% in July. It rose even with a sharp decline in gas prices that took the cost at the pump well below the nominal record above $5 a gallon earlier in the summer.

The only solution is to give Ukraine more money.
money supply tweaks don’t fix skyrocketing energy costs, supply line shortages and insane regulations; bidenflation is structural, not fiscal

yes
50 cent cans of beans, potatoes, cheap spaghetti O’s are now 78-92 cents (WalMart).
Just since February. That’s over 80% more in just slightly 7 months (for the highest priced item). 184% of original price in late February. So only 84% inflation on some things.
Thanks, Brandon! Genius!
Vote Democrat for more of the same!
Gas in Atlanta has dropped to $2.95

And what does that mean for Social Security aka “entitlement” recipients’ COLAs?

These people are idiots! U can’t exclude energy, because we have an ac distribution system that runs ac motors (it was invented that way). These motors are the real producers of our goods, so when the GW aholes started eliminating the fossil fuel and nuclear plants and are now selling our gas to those dinks in the EU, it drove electricity up causing the price of all goods to go up! The cost of electricity is baked in to the price of the article that is produced, and this is what the FED is seeing but are to dumb to realize it.
Go ahead and increase the interest rates to a 1000 % and it will not change the energy that goes to produce an item.
Where do the fed governor dumb asses come from?
Congress decides what that will be.
Sadly the COLA never matches reality
