Belarus is just there for “moral support” (and staging when they were trying to attack Kiev).

If Putin declares war against Ukraine, then Belarus is obligated by treaty to join Putin’s war.

If Putin declares war on Ukraine tomorrow or on Oct 1, Lukashenko and his troops will need to join the war by Nov 1.

Perhaps, but “joining the war” and marching your troops right into the hornet’s nest are two different things. Belarus may decide that nominal compliance is the wiser course than full commitment.

Minsk is a city of 2 million. Putin has a big problem if those folks decide they no longer want to be slaves of Muscovy.

And what makes you think that those 100,000 Belarussian troops will willingly invade Ukraine when Putin had to send his own to stop them from overthrowing Lukashenko in 2020?

I very much doubt they will. Luka****head embarrassed Putin with his public observation that Russians were trying to avoid the draft. He’s a puppet, but with that level of ego, he’d be glad to see Putin go.

By eliminating flights between Russia, or Belarus, and Turkey until the end of the year. Erdogan avoids having to keep track of a lot of Slavic draft dodgers and a few spies and sabateurs. Putin is probably not happy Erdogan is shipping nice little drones to Ukraine.

The Belarus people are not happy their winning candidate did not take the Presidency. This showed during the time Russia was entering Ukraine from their territory to try to take Kiev. It was reported railway workers were causing difficulties with Russian use of the Belarus rail system. was this one of the reasons Putin pulled out of north Ukraine?

I think you might have misunderstood the article. Turkey has not banned air travel from Russia going to Turkey. Turkish Airlines will not fly to Russia or Belarus. Other airlines still operate to and from all three countries. For the first week of the mobilization, one-way flights from Russia to Turkey went through the roof.
