You need to get out more.

Ranch dogs don’t know what a leash is.

Again, you disagree with her version of the events, that’s your prerogative to do, that doesn’t change my statement.

If an animal is attacking or threatening me, I don’t care what kind of animal it is... I will not for a second hesitate to put it down, period.

I owned a very large Husky, that was a generally mild mannered pet.. however, I have seen instinct take over, and the damage such an animal can do. Whether or not you believe her version of events or not, really bears no relevance to my statement.

Wild and Ferrel dogs are not pets, regardless of general temperment of their “breed”. They will take down prey just as effectively as any wild animal you have ever met, and “going ferrel” is actually something that happens to even the tamest of pets when left out to roam where wild dogs are also present.

Worst case in this situation she made a mistake and shot dog believing it was something more threatening... even under that assumption its not the crime of the century as much as some people here might want it to be.

I’m far more concerned about the idiot down the block who has the dog on a chain in his back yard that neglects and ignores it than I am this situation.

But lets manufacture outrage because ooh, I love my pet...

At least she got a pelt. A throw rug to remember the event.

Those little yap yap dogs will be extinct.

***********

Those little yap yaps aren’t the problem. It’s the
big yap yaps that can be the dangerous ones.

LOL, yes I would also put down any dangerous animal that threatened me, but I would not skin a dog.

Thank you. I would love to get another Husky, but I don’t think they do well in the deep south humid, climate no matter how much I kept him comfortable. They’re snow dogs. I ran into someone later, and they lost theirs the same way. Just died when sleeping.

I agree and it’s more than a little ironic. Bizarre even. The amount of information now available through the internet is mind boggling and available with a click or two.

I was a carpenter in the ‘70s, ‘80s and into the ‘90s and fairly good at it. Learned a lot about other trades too. What I can learn now about my own trade on youtube and other websites could propel me to a far higher level in short order if I were still active in it.

That is just one example of many thousands of subjects where useful in depth knowledge is right at everyone’s fingertips. Literally.

I have a friend with a husky. Summers are tough but rest of the year is manageable. Need lots of grooming. Runs in early morning or just before sunset

Fine. We’ll leave Will out of this, but the timber wolves, coyotes, cougars all get it heh.

They also love the companionship of other dogs, so he had Sheba my mix always to play with, and for company. I didn’t want another dog after Sheba passed, but my husband insisted on a chihuahua puppy, his friend’s dog had last year. I never liked them since they look like huge, bug-eyed rats, but he’s okay, (sometimes), and cuter than most.

Even the book smarts are related to pseudo-science and revisionist history; they know nothing about the period prior to the year 2000.

The internet can be a great tool for learning; it is just a question of what people learn from it.

... one cow has a value of about 2200$ at market ...... I shoot coyotes 3 to 6 a night to protect said profits such as hamburgers and steaks .......... my retirement hobby. Hell I also shoot the engine blocks of trespassers, rustlers, thieves and poachers.

Really tired of critters and criminals . Make em pay.

My opinion, Stay Safe Bub !
