Again, you disagree with her version of the events, that’s your prerogative to do, that doesn’t change my statement.
If an animal is attacking or threatening me, I don’t care what kind of animal it is... I will not for a second hesitate to put it down, period.
I owned a very large Husky, that was a generally mild mannered pet.. however, I have seen instinct take over, and the damage such an animal can do. Whether or not you believe her version of events or not, really bears no relevance to my statement.
Wild and Ferrel dogs are not pets, regardless of general temperment of their “breed”. They will take down prey just as effectively as any wild animal you have ever met, and “going ferrel” is actually something that happens to even the tamest of pets when left out to roam where wild dogs are also present.
Worst case in this situation she made a mistake and shot dog believing it was something more threatening... even under that assumption its not the crime of the century as much as some people here might want it to be.
I’m far more concerned about the idiot down the block who has the dog on a chain in his back yard that neglects and ignores it than I am this situation.
But lets manufacture outrage because ooh, I love my pet...
LOL, yes I would also put down any dangerous animal that threatened me, but I would not skin a dog.
