Russian-installed officials in occupied regions of Ukraine reported huge majorities on Tuesday in favour of becoming part of Russia after five days of voting in so-called referendums that Kyiv and the West denounced as a sham.
Hastily arranged votes had taken place in four areas - the eastern regions of Donetsk and Luhansk, and to the south Zaporizhzhia and Kherson - that make up about 15% of Ukrainian territory.
Luhansk authorities said 98.4% of people there had voted to join Russia. In Zaporizhzhia, a Russian-appointed official put the figure at 93.1%. In Kherson, the head of the voting committee put the "yes" vote at above 87%.

Native language is no indicator of anyone’s desire to be united with the “mother country.” Heck, I speak English and I most assuredly don’t want to be re-united with England. And Zelensky is a native Russian speaker too. So those numbers don’t mean anything.

The language one speaks is not a clear indication of political affiliation.
Zelensky is a native Russian speaker.
And the majority even 90% of Irish speak English only. Doesn’t make them want to join the UK.
Neither do Zurich citizens want to join Germany
Russia had forced Russification since the 1890s.
It wasn’t unusual, the French reduced Occitan, Gascon, Breton etc., the English nearly eliminated welsh, cornish as well as Yorks etc
Language is not the only indicator of national sentiment
Why would Russia need to do that? They could just fill out the ballot themselves with a resounding “yes.”

The international observers who attested to the results are already feeling the wrath of Ursula von der Leyen and minions- getting fired from their jobs, sanctioned.
