Native language is no indicator of anyone’s desire to be united with the “mother country.” Heck, I speak English and I most assuredly don’t want to be re-united with England. And Zelensky is a native Russian speaker too. So those numbers don’t mean anything.
Then the ChiComs, believing that us decadent Yankee Imperialists are too chicken to further support Ukraine and that Russia will keep the conquered areas, tell everyone to make a deal quick! The following headlines are from a news aggregator.

Zelensky is a native Russian speaker.
And the majority even 90% of Irish speak English only. Doesn’t make them want to join the UK.
Neither do Zurich citizens want to join Germany
Russia had forced Russification since the 1890s.
It wasn’t unusual, the French reduced Occitan, Gascon, Breton etc., the English nearly eliminated welsh, cornish as well as Yorks etc
