Putin squirms in his seat as Belarus dictator Lukashenko rants about men 'running away' from mobilisation in Russia as huge traffic jams on Georgia border are captured in images from SPACE

Belarusian president monologued and spouted rhetorical questions in his rant to Putin today in Sochi Putin sat silently, clearly uncomfortable, as he listened to his counterpart insisting that Russia would win war

The call for mobilisation has proved wildly unpopular throughout Russia, sparking protests and a mass exodus Hundreds of thousands have already fled the country and traffic jams at several border checkpoints are visible from space

This is the moment an uncomfortable-looking Vladimir Putin squirmed in his seat as he was forced to endure a bizarre lecture on people fleeing his rule from fellow autocrat Alexander Lukashenko.

The Belarusian president - who needed Putin's help to crush a pro-Western democratic movement in his country in 2020 - assured the Kremlin leader he would win his war in Ukraine, despite the growing unrest over his decision to mobilise 300,000 new troops.

The Kremlin chief looked hunched and uncomfortable, saying little during the meeting in Sochi as Russians continue to protest his mobilisation edict or flee abroad to avoid being drafted.

'Our course is right, our cause is right,' Lukashenko told Putin, bringing a rare smile to the Russian warmonger's lips.

'We will win. We have no other choice. We, as Slavs, would not tolerate humiliation,' Lukashenko told him.

The Belarusian leaders bombastic speech belied the situation on the ground though.

The call for mobilisation has proved wildly unpopular, with hundreds of thousands of Russian men having already fled the country to avoid the call up.

Outbound flights from Russia are completely sold out, and traffic jams leading to Russia's borders are so big they can be seen from space.

*Ahem* Ukrainians are Slavs, too.

It would be a not unprecedented historical irony if the war in Ukraine was the beginning of the end of Putin’s reign.

'We will win. We have no other choice. We, as Slavs, would not tolerate humiliation,' Lukashenko told him.

And the Ukies are also Slavs so this is a curious argument.
WWII started as a war to wipe Poland, also a Slavic nation, off of the map of Europe, and ended with Poland shrinking both in size and independence. No one now wants Ukraine to succeed more than the Poles, who would also be happy to foment a revolution in Belarus as well. The more Lukashenko embraces Putin's failed war, the more likely his regime will fall.

And the reason Stalin sided with Hitler in the beginning, is that Hitler let Stalin have half of Poland, whereas Britain and France wouldn't.

Gee and this appeal to crush a country for “Slavic pride”. Who does that remind us of? Maybe Nazis?

Well, it’s definitely the end of Russia’s ‘federation’ since it has neither the money nor the might to hold onto the republics any longer. China is already moving in on Kazakhstan.

Just like here in the US, some things on foreign affairs are all about politics at home.

This is an attempt to push the NATO caused the whole thing meme (which many people here also believe), but is focused on domestic consumption.

The war is unpopular in Russia but also Belarus, but if they can tie in George Soros, Biden/Obama, the WEF, Global Homosexuals, etc., then it becomes more palatable. And some of it may be true.

However, it is still a war on Slavs, with real Slavs dying on both sides. War is hell. Common people don’t want wars, don’t want their sons to die, or the other sides sons to die.

And the reason Stalin sided with Hitler in the beginning, is that Hitler let Stalin have half of Poland, whereas Britain and France wouldn't.

The reason that Stalin sided with Hitler initially was that he was facing protests in Ukraine in particular that threatened his regime. Ukrainian peasants were marching to the Polish border to demand that Poland invade and free them from Stalin's rule. Poland was a relatively prosperous country compared to the USSR, where parents were eating their dead children to keep from starving to death when Stalin raided their food stores. So, Stalin sided with Hitler, who wanted to push all of the Slavs across the Urals for German lebensraum.

There are interesting parallels to Putin's actions. As corrupt as it is, Ukraine was arguably more prosperous and free than Russia. Putin was threatened by having a rival. Stalin also used the ethnic/linguistic argument to justify annexing Polish territory. Just as there are Russian speakers in Eastern Ukraine who don't want to be in Russia, there were those who spoke Ukrainian, Carpo-Rusyn, or a related dialect of language who did not want to leave Poland and join the USSR. History is repeating itself in Ukraine.

Stalin always wanted revenge for 1920, since actually a lot of the blame for their failure in Poland was on his shoulders.

I think you mean the Commonwealth of Independent States, those are parts of the former USSR, kind of like the British Commonwealth including countries like Jamaica and Australia.

The Russian Federation refers to the state of Russia with Moscow as its capitol.

Well Putler wanted to mobilize 300,000.
So far he’s mobilized at least 260,000 to leave RuZZia.
pathetic videos of draftees being told nothing will be supplied but a uniform. Bring their own sleeping bags, medical gear. Ask wives and girlfriends for tampons and pads as field dressings.

Слава Україні!
