New Russian conscripts from mass mobilisation being sent straight to frontline, Ukraine says

Ukraine’s Armed Forces general staff has claimed some Russian conscripts from the Kremlin’s mass mobilisation are being sent directly to the frontlines in Ukraine without training.

Amid warnings from the UK’s Ministry of Defence and other experts that many of those conscripted were likely to get little meaningful training – and faced the risk of “high rates of attrition” when deployed – men recently mobilised by pro-Russian occupation officials in Ukraine were also being readied for the frontline.

Those included newly drafted personnel in Crimea as well as conscripts in the Luhansk region who have received draft summonses in recent days.

The latest moves came as it was reported that Russia has also closed its border to occupied areas of Ukraine with the neighbouring Rostov region for entry and exit ordering locals to appear at military enlistment offices within three days

The first wave of Russian conscripts have begun arriving for training in Russia amid widespread scepticism among outside western analysts over what impact the call up was likely to have on Russian capabilities in Ukraine.

"So US Army is about breaking stereotypes and the Russian Army is about gaining the admiration of beautiful patriotic women who sing well."

If you say so, General Milley.

I’ve never seen such polar opposite reporting in my life. It’s Western MSM FAKE news versus former communists. Should be a close race to see who lies the most.

I think the Ukes are claiming about 57,000 Russians killed , while the Russians are claiming they have only lost 1/10 of that. Similar claims on the reverse.

Videos abound of each side killing each other with typical human zeal. Our western media of course only shows the Uke troops killing Russians and destroying their equipment. However websites like Tribun Timur (Indonesian) have 100s of videos showing heavy Ukrainian losses.

Like this one that shows some cold hearted Russian targeting wounded Ukrainians with a drone.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g1B5kD-nGTk

So am I not making sense who I want to win…? Exactly I’m neutral and have been since day 1. This bloody war needs to stop before it morphs into another world war. While we keep sending literally billions and ignore our own borders—71,000 Americans died of fentanyl/opioids O.D. mostly brought across the border in 2021, insanity!

PS
On YouTube I had some know-it-all tell me Tribun Timur was a fake news site. I asked him how he knew and he said the video in question showed Russians attacking Ukranian troops using a pontoon bridge and that was clearly a lie as they didn’t even have any. I searched and in about 30 seconds found many examples of the exact opposite, I went back to the video and the comments were already turned off.

There was a Russian MP who said that they only needed 2 weeks training.

But of course if they are already reaching the front lines, then they didn’t even get that.

I think the whole mobilization thing was designed to scare Ukraine into a peace settlement and surrendering their lands. It won’t work.

Hard to believe that Russia would want to sacrifice another 300,000 to 1,200,000 people in Ukraine, when the US and NATO have already said that their response to the mobilization is to accelerate weapon deliveries to Ukraine.

I have several contacts in Russia, they tell me they have all volunteered to fight for Russia in Ukraine. They were turned away and told they were only taking trained and experienced reserves at this point. The Russians are very patriotic and know the difference between propaganda and facts. I wish that were true on FR.

Seriously? You have personally got "several" of such contacts?

I think that Putin is quickly trying to refill the depleted ranks of his existing BTGs with any warm bodies he can get a hold of, and then ship them all to the Ukrainian territories and cities Russia now occupies to defend them after his sham referendums are done. They can’t attack, but I bet he thinks the new soldiers will defend if he puts enough “commissars” in the rear to shoot them down when they run.

Sadly, it won’t matter long term. RuSSia is incapable of building a civil society that functions. They have zero history of freedom and zero civilizational drive.

They have always been ruled from the top down by a despot and they always will.

You are onto the truth there!

Russia is in a box now with the sanctions and wants them ended ASAP

Russia cannot win this war on the battlefield ... if they try, the sanctions could be in place for years

so they're trying to scare Ukraine (and Europe) into settling now ... like you say, it won't work

(if Russia really wants the sanctions to end, it can stop invading Ukraine!!)

Does not matter where they are sent - they are essentially civilians and will be slaughtered ... UA will hunt them with cluster munitions, unless they surrender.

About 70% of them will not last long, becoming 200s, 300s, POWs, MIAs, deserters. It was estimated on another tread today that of the 800,000 mustered, 560,000 will follow that route.

The muster is in total disarray with mostly minorities being called up regardless of age, military service, or health. Even people with prior service are sometimes turned away.

City folk are being tread on lightly so as to avoid riots and protests, while allowing any potential revolutionary leaders to flee the country.

With no training and rusty AKs and 80-year-old Mosin-Nagants?

Don’t forget the boots with more holes than Swiss cheese and the total lack of winter clothing.

it is mostly criminals, political prisoner and people who protest the war who are being sent to the front.

The felons were recruited by the Wagner Group - a private army, not by the regular army. It those people do not fight, they will be shot on the spot - they were told before they ‘volunteered’.

Most of the troops are from Central and Far Eastern provinces - few are from the cities.

Biden ignores the border because the cartels get US$15,000 an illegal head. And that’s not counting anything else.
