KYIV, Ukraine (AP) – The onset of autumnal weather, with rains making fields too muddy for tanks, is beginning to cloud Ukraine’s efforts to take back more Russian-held territory before winter freezes the battlefields, a Washington-based think tank said Sunday.
Russia, meanwhile, pressed on with its call-up of hundreds of thousands of men to throw into the seven-month war, seeking to reverse its recent losses. Without control of the skies over Ukraine, Russia is also making increasing use of suicide drones, with more strikes reported Sunday in the Black Sea port city of Odesa.

I assume NATO is supplying Ukraine with winter gear. The Russian conscript is going to have to fend for himself and that includes boots, jackets, gloves, etc.
Global Warming Favors Ukraine
Already halted/stalled.

And 10% for "the big guy" (and the "little guy")
Hardly. And contrary to pundits, Russians forces are adequately prepared for winter and long have been.
Just one example of many who reported on the leaked Ukrainian documents put all over the net a while back:
“Unconfirmed leaked data from the Armed Forces of Ukraine General Staff:
- The AFU are only 43-48% complete;
- medical workers at the limit of their strength: the seriously wounded are transported to Europe;
- small arms and bulletproof vests are not enough”

This was backed up by other reports. It’s probably much worse now, so there’s no telling how bad it is for Ukraine.
And Ukraine reportedly lost up to (again, up to) 12k soldiers recently taking an area the size of Rhode Island while Russia has taken more land recently in Southern Ukraine.
Ukraine has lost at least 50% of its regular, trained people, and had no choice but to go all-in on an offensive attack.
The Guardian, Democracy Now, and others reported that a mere 1,000 square kilometers were retaken by Ukraine, not Zel’s claimed 6000 sq km.
The BBC reported that about 1/5 of Ukraine has been conquered by Russia. So Ukrainians retaking a mere 1k square kilometers out of 1/5 of Ukraine turns out to be an area the size of Rhode Island and all the while Russia has made recent advancements into areas of southern Ukraine.
Regular consumers of CNN, Daily Mail, etc, won’t like this.
Wasn’t “Autumn Mud, Winter Freeze” a big hit song for Johnny Mathis?
Excellent info.
Logistics are $#it. The Russians are corrupt and they all steal from each other. Now they are mobilizing 300,000 troops. How would they be able to supply them? We saw what happened with the Battle of Kyiv. They would have taken the capital if they had their $#it together (although they would not have been able to hold on to it).
This a good story to be putting out right now. The Russian conscripts will be the ones ill-equipped for winter warfare.
Can’t believe people hould even think Russians aren’t ready for winter for their troops! It’s Russia for crying out loud! People just aren’t thinking!
Okie dokie.
Please remain uninformed.
Also please continue to contribute your $5, $10, $20, $25, $50 to those various Ukrainian NGOs that fund ZelenskyyIdiot’s various bank accounts, villas, etc., all while the Idiot is incessantly demanding and begging the West/EU/UK/US/NATO for more billions, tanks, planes, artillery assets, etc., etc., etc. *thumbs up*
Beyond me other than them being simply anti-Russian sentiment/rhetoric or just flat out being uninformed.
Ad Homs are about all they have.
Meh, we all resort to them at times, even I have to admit such.
It’s all good.
I see you are on Putin’s payroll. I guess you know where’s your bread is buttered.
Yes, of course, he pays well too have you not heard? /s
Well actually that’s easy; all you do is kill these Ukrainians with their nice winter gear and take it
