DeSantis to face trial for suspension of prosecutor who defied abortion ban law
The Guardian via Yahoo ^ | September 23, 2022 | By Richard Luscombe

A Florida prosecutor suspended by Ron DeSantis for defying a new 15-week abortion law says a federal judge’s decision to send his reinstatement appeal to trial means a reckoning is coming for the state’s Republican governor.

Andrew Warren, a Democrat, was removed as Hillsborough county state attorney on 4 August after saying he would not enforce the abortion ban or prosecute providers of gender transition treatment for young people.

DeSantis cited Warren’s alleged “woke agenda” in reasons for his decision.

At a hearing in Tallahassee on Monday, Judge Robert Hinkle denied motions from DeSantis to dismiss Warren’s lawsuit, and another by Warren seeking an immediate return to office, instead requesting their differences be settled at a trial in the coming weeks.

The closely watched case is expected to give clarity to DeSantis’s power to purge elected officials who disagree with him. In recent weeks, the governor has also removed four members of a school board in Broward county that defied him over Covid-19 mask mandates.

Those who thought DeSantis would be better than Trump in 2024, are going to learn the hard way that the Left will seek to destroy whoever leads our cause.

Exactly right. Anybody we position as the "next Trump" can expect the Trump treatment from the Left.

They were just getting warmed up with Sarah Palin.

We need to stick with Trump and smash them in the teeth in 2024.

"... two guys who are willing and able ... potential of 12 years"

Kari Lake might kick both their asses eventually. But assuming political conditions or politicians' viability so many years out is kinda silly. Certainly not a valid reason to pick one candidate over the other in a current cycle.

None of this saving someone in the freezer for future races nonsense. Go with the best you got each cycle.

Also, I'll vote for the primary winner, of course, it's the only mature option. Though, if you are comparing personal lives and past behaviors, clearly Trump does have more baggage.

Partly just because he is older and has done a lot of stuff both good and bad.

Not to mention TrumpRyanCare, Trump SwampVax, etc.

I do agree that’s what it’s going to take.

And we have to seriously screw the school leadership, and
get back to human basics.

” purge elected officials who disagree with him”

Just like the democrats do, but they cry “Foul” when it happens to them.

Florida "Oath of Office" that DeSantis used to SUSPEND this Hillsborough County Florida State Prosecutor;

"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support, protect, and defend the Constitution and Government of the United States and of the State of Florida; that I am duly qualified to hold office under the Constitution of the State, and that I will well and faithfully perform the duties of

_______________________________________________________________________ (Title of Office)
on which I am now about to enter, so help me God.

Following the US Supreme Court overturn of Roe_V_Wade in June (2022), Florida State Prosecutor Andrew Warren, added his signature to a 'national protest letter & statement' about enforcement or lack thereof for actions now, by local/state laws, are now subject to prosecution. This is, by simple definition, a 'pocket veto' by the prosecutor, and by the words of his Oath, an action that violates that Oath.

While I see the swamp-vax negatives, how are you going to
shout down the NIH, CDC, and the WHO with your populace
scared to death and looking for anything that might work?

I don’t like that he’s hawking it today, and acting as if
nothing has been found wrong with it.

I think that’s a mistaken premise, and it does bother me.

Its Trump all over again. Until Trump came on the scene the Executive had the freedom to hire and fire whom they please. Now they are doing it to Desantis.

Yes and that is what Michael Mann hopes to do with Mark Steyn - or is that over now? There is no way MM wants to defend his bogus hockey stick graph before a jury. He just wants Steyn to tuck tail or to run out of money.

Agree. The Guardian seems to have an unhealthy interest in US politics.

You have a different experience than me. When I went to college the out of the closet gay guy I knew made it plainly clear how much he hated Christians. I wonder why?

They already have their artillery trained on the spot where the GOP 2024 nominee will be standing.

The Guarduan lefty puke writer attempts to place DeSantis as party of trial when in fact it’s a jury deliberating a wrongful termination.

That’s more like Law SUIT fare.

Lawfare is much worse. That’s when the 30-40 FBI agents come to your house at 4:00 AM, armed, wearing camo and body armor, in armored cars, with CNN cameras in tow, and you are (innocent until proven guilty) a 71-year-old man with a sick wife and nobody else at home, not even a dog. And if you had a dog, they’d shoot it. And your forced to sit in handcuff, you in pajamas, your wife in her nightgown, on the wet grass while they search thru all your stuff until the sun comes up.

Or your FBI agents asks a question of you while you’re setting up your new office and you give some rough answer, only to find out you “lied to the FBI” seven months later, and then if you do not agree to accept a guilty verdict, get told how your son is NEXT. And even when the Justice Department dismisses all charges, some fat, rich owed-favors-to-democrats US Federal Judge decides to keep you on trial—without a prosecutor!!!

Or you are angry at proven election cheating, go to Washington DC, protest, see people streaming into the Capitol Building, with Capitol police escorting them in, so you get in line and go in. Maybe you even videoed yourself doing this because, hey, you always wanted to see this beautiful, historic place, and there’s a funny guy in a Buffalo hat chanting over there, so you video that too. Oh, guess what, you’ve been in the DC jailhouse a long 20 months now for that.

By the way, not one person has been fired, let alone scolded on TV for these things.

That’s REAL 21st Century lawfare.

Another constitutional victory for DeSantis, IMO.

ANY state or Fed employee who takes an OATH to uphold laws & then refuses to do exactly that deserves to be removed.

"...it does bother me."

Me too.

He gave the correct path, freedom of treatments, a passing support. Then folded like a cheap suit. And then not only did NOT fight the 3-letter tyrant agencies, he jumped into bed with them for some Warp Speed threesome sex:

BigGov + BigPharma + BigEgo = SwampVax.

He has time to wake up, repent and promise to help destroy those pillars of the swamp he previously mated. But today, he sucks bigly on this topic.

Gov Ron was the only high official who stood between babies and Trump's SwampVax. Plus Ron currently beats Don on the illegals issue too. At least in terms of revealing the enemy's nakedness and highlighting the problem.

Don knows this and is afraid Ron. Thus Don's silence on Ron's good works.

I can't honestly refer to The Don as a VSG anymore.

We should focus some resources on members of the squad, and Susan Rice, and all the behind the scenes ideologues, and go after them like they’ve tried with Trump. Force them to pay legal bills and defend themselves. Label them as foreign agents - as they tried to do with Trump. Investigate their finances, relationships, etc. They deserve this because they play by NO rules. They need to learn that when you live by the sword you die by the sword - figuratively of course.
