DeSantis to face trial for suspension of prosecutor who defied abortion ban law
The Guardian via Yahoo ^ | September 23, 2022 | By Richard Luscombe

A Florida prosecutor suspended by Ron DeSantis for defying a new 15-week abortion law says a federal judge’s decision to send his reinstatement appeal to trial means a reckoning is coming for the state’s Republican governor.

Andrew Warren, a Democrat, was removed as Hillsborough county state attorney on 4 August after saying he would not enforce the abortion ban or prosecute providers of gender transition treatment for young people.

DeSantis cited Warren’s alleged “woke agenda” in reasons for his decision.

At a hearing in Tallahassee on Monday, Judge Robert Hinkle denied motions from DeSantis to dismiss Warren’s lawsuit, and another by Warren seeking an immediate return to office, instead requesting their differences be settled at a trial in the coming weeks.

The closely watched case is expected to give clarity to DeSantis’s power to purge elected officials who disagree with him. In recent weeks, the governor has also removed four members of a school board in Broward county that defied him over Covid-19 mask mandates.

Who is this Judge Robert Hinkle character? Sounds like a loser to me.

I like Ron, but I’m not backing him for the top spot until 2028.
Hopefully by then, if he decides to run, he'll have an agenda for the top spot...So far, NOT!

he is more rigidly right-wing than Trump. He is much tougher on things like “no mandates.”
Maybe I missed something. Did Trump have mandates?

It would be hard for Ron to beat this:

Of course they’re going to try to destroy anyone who wins the GOP nomination, whether it’s Donald Trump himself or someone they’ll quickly label, “Just like Donald Trump, but worse!”

They literally have already started doing that with DeSantis - like Trump but more dangerous because he understands politics. Meanwhile Trump wasn’t really too bad because he had some soft edges.
Just like Bush was literally Hitler now he’s a nice guy, McCain was a warmonger but then was a reasonable republican, Romney had binders full of women and tried to kill his dog but now is an anti-Trump folk hero.

I think it’s hard to recall all the things any of our
presidents do, that are good or bad.

Yeah, I differed with Trump some. I differed with Reagan
some. That amnesty opened the door for more than 3.5
million to register. We have problems today related to
it. All along the way we have.

Here is a list of Trump’s accomplishments. He is still by
far and away the best president since Reagan, and in some
instances even Reagan.

I’m not done with him. I won’t be.

Yep. We should go to school on them, and make it an all out
political blood bath, since that’s how they want to play.

The FL Constitution is very specific about the powers of the Governor in regards to judges, sheriffs etc. as elected state officers. A state officer, a judge, in writing- stated he would not follow State Law. The governor removed him, as provided for in the FL Constitution. The “judge” has no case and this entire article is ill informed and, wrong.

All true. However, that’s not how it’ll be covered in the MSM. The low-IQ people (RATs) never will know the truth.

"...I’m not done with him."

Me either. Though I'm not convinced yet he is actually running again. It's great we have fine alternatives like Ron, Kari, etc. which are Trump-like in the sense that they play offense better than typical establishment types.

There are the vax/big govt mistakes I hope he addresses. I like the aspects of him which some dislike. Tweeting and such.

Thanks for the link.

Gee. I’m old enough to remember the Left celebrating when Kim Davis was jailed for contempt of court.

Those who thought DeSantis would be better than Trump in
2024, are going to learn the hard way that the Left will
seek to destroy whoever leads our cause.

There can be no appeasement. The answer is to hit the leftists with every tactic in the book. The Martha’s Vineyard airlift was a perfect example.

I agree 100%.

Running to DeSantis in order to resolve the “Trump” problem isn’t the answer because the Left HATES everyone. They will destroy ANYONE no matter who it is.

We must stand with Trump. He is the hill to die on.

I agree.

Trump never came out strongly in favor of them or against them, as I recall, but he took the disease very seriously of course nonetheless. He tried not to antagonize his base while having a heart and soul for all the suffering and death. He might have mentioned disapproving of them later on in the epidemic, when they were no longer needed. I watch almost every rally and am trying to remember exactly what he said.

He displayed a heroic response to the disease, of course, as we all remember, and saved many, many lives.

DeSantis has been extreme on one side of the issue.

Big difference.

A lot of people died in Florida, an issue that the most heartless among us tend to minimize.

There is this one thing we haven't tried yet...I'll just leave that to hang out there.
