Once Trump is out of the way, whenever and however that is, they, the evil ones, will set their lambent red eyes on DeSantis. They will do to him ALL that they did to Trump and throw in any new vileness that they can dream up. Rinse repeat, until they absolutely own the show.
I’m sure in 2016 they were doing the same things to the other Republican candidates. Spying and setting up vicious smear jobs on everyone who was running. I’m sure they’re preparing the same against everyone who is likely to run.
Whatever your definition...the guy is everything we’d want in a leader!

In his first term, none of this was known and the media was out to get him.. with no push back.. the gop is still dead in the water, but there is new blood running for office...
If you have doubts about Trump, that is your choice. I know before he ran for the Presidency, he had to deal with NY City, in all of his ideas and buildings... he is a fighter... he knows how to fight.. who else could have withstood all of government and the left, go after as hard as anyone ever has had to endure and still have faith in his voters and this country!

I remember the day Castro rode into town on a convertible.. he and his band had defeated the dictator and were riding in to claim ownership. The crowd followed the car, cheering him on.
A few days later he announced he was a communist and the first thing he did was take the guns from citizens. then he took ownership of their land and their homes. Drs and lawyers and all who could, left everything and fled to Florida. boat or swimming.. some drowned. Those who made it started all over again.

But Bruce, why then did Trump’s 2020 vote total increase by 12 million over his 2016 total? And I’m talking about the official, reported tally not one adjusted to account for possible fraud. It just doesn’t make sense. Biden supposedly got 16 million more votes than Clinton in 2016. Who are these people?
Trump solidified his base between 2016 and 2020. Most of those who voted for him reluctantly voted for him enthusiastically in 2020. Those who supported him enthusiastically in 2016 were still on board with him in 2020. On top of that he gained an additional 12 million more votes from people who didn’t vote for him in 2016.
The population of rabid Trump hating Democrats didn’t sit out 2016. They voted for Clinton. So who is this population of 16 million Trummp haters who didn’t like Biden but hated Trump even more yet didn’t hate him enough to vote against him in 2016? Keep in mind that Trump’s approval among independents in general, and blacks and latino’s in particular increased between 2016 and 2020. It just doesn’t make sense.
Also for your consideration is that a lot of the current donations are not just boomers, but the older high end of life boomers, not insignificantly the Qanon supporters who give in large amount to maintain access to the site while other sites ban them. Those folks are the oldest of the old and no one should count on their support indefinitely and unfortunately many have passed on in The last four or five years. Others have just disappeared, perhaps to bad health or death.
Start by looking at DeSantis’s donor list. Start by looking at his support for Fast Track Authority for the Trans Pacific Partnership when he was in the House.
Because he is polarizing. There are people who really like him and therefore want to vote for him, and people who really hate him and therefore want to vote against him. And the polarization got worse from 2016 to 2020.
Additionally, because of Covid, a bunch of states allowed vote by mail. That did make it easier to commit fraud, but it also made it easier for people to cast legitimate votes. So, we got a lot more total votes.

And that’s where your premise faulters. Trump became less polarizing between 2016 and 2020 because he had a record of sucess that he didn’t have in 2016. He gained support among independents, and in particular Blacks and Latinos between 2016 and 2020.
Trump didn’t cause the division, he revealed it.
