New York attorney general Letitia James has said her office is set to make a “major announcement” within hours.
The state’s top lawyer has rejected at least one settlement offer from former president Donald Trump, who her office has been investigating for the past three years.
But she has given no details of why she called the press conference for 10.30am ET, to which press have been invited.
During the course of her probe into the Trump Organization, Ms James has alleged that Mr Trump inflated or devalued the value of his properties in paperwork to secure hundreds of millions of dollars in tax breaks or bank loans.
Ms James has said in previous court filings that her office has found evidence of possible fraud, reported ABC News.

Perhaps I am getting spooked by the things I read here on FR and I see more than a few who are coming down on President Trump. I don’t like what I am seeing.
And in this particular case...inflating the value of assets is so commonplace that it would be laughable to claim it is a crime.
If the bank does not evaluate the value of the asset, it is THEIR FAULT.
I have said this many times, but it bears repeating.
banks do an independent appraisal
city does the assessment
tax return is cost

assets for sale." If I have property worth say $200,000
but I manage to sell it for $500,000 what crime has been
committed? Only if I misrepresented the property in
some way would I have maybe committed a crime.
