MELBOURNE, Fla. – A man accused of attacking his girlfriend in her apartment Tuesday was arrested after the woman’s twin daughters fended him off, giving their mother enough time to find safety, according to the Melbourne Police Department.
Officers responded at 1:21 p.m. to a disturbance at Manatee Cove Apartments, where the woman told police she had just been attacked at her residence by her boyfriend, 33-year-old Andrew Williams, Jr.
According to a news release, Williams was “unexpectedly surprised” when the woman’s daughters — both 6 years old — used toys, sticks and a hair dryer in an attempt to protect their mother. With the twins’ help, police said the woman was able to retreat to a bathroom for safety as Williams ran from the apartment. Officers called the girls “little heroes” for their actions.
Neighbor Carrie Jacobs said the girls were heroes, as well.
“They protected their mom,” Jacobs said. ‘’It’s a good thing they did that because their mom is still here today.”

This was on Fox TV recently. Amazing how happy and polite the kids appeared.
Great story. Bub why should any six year old have to do that?

In one way, it’s too bad the kids hadn’t found a knife and de-nutted the Florida Man.

And don’t give me any racist nonsense... Women are insanely stupid when it comes to the men they let around their kids... you have CHILDREN... I know having a partner makes life easier than being a single parent.. but honest to God what is wrong with these women....

No. That is not necessarily true at all. And certainly not in cases like these.
It does generally just from a pragmatic reality. Having someone to help pick up the kids, watch the kids, feed the kids, etc etc etc... A second income, or possibly a primary income so you can stop or cut back working etc etc... depending on the situation...
I get the allure to have a partner... but these single parents (mothers in particular) have to wake the hell up....

Good grief - just the booking pic would tell me to cross the street, let alone let him around my kids.
I consider it child abuse ( on the mothers part) that they had to do that. (if this story is true)
I used to say put them into foster care but I have no confidence in CPS anymore. I pray for those children. I hope this truly stupid woman wises up.

For millennia women have valued getting married after the man proves that he will be just such a provider. Having a family after that and after marriage.
Now it’s not valued. Now having a guy around is supposed to be helpful. If he isn’t everyone hates on him. It’s like a bad show people watch.
But as usual people comment on the situation or let it happen with no mention of how the kids feel about it

That’s the only thing that should matter. The kids are innocent. People can blame kids or say how brave they are but people rarely say anything critical to or about mothers.
They’re right about everything. They have to have companionship. They deserve bla bla bla
They can stop perpetuating mend as behavior by demanding that men act like citizens, providers and gentlemen before anyones doing any ‘companionship’
And the kids can get off to college before any of that happens when the father has deserted the family and the innocent kids

I guess it’s true when they say twins are a handful.
None of us have any idea of the background of this story. Most of you are blaming the mother. Again, we don’t know why she let her kids be around this guy or any other circumstances. The one thing we do know, this guy is the problem. Not one comment from all of you mentioning this guy controlling himself or why he did what he did. Let’s just blame the mother because that’s easy. Maybe she was dressed inappropriately, or provoked this behavior, and the man couldn’t help himself. /s

Lay this “single mom” krap on Lyndon Johnson. He’s the one who came up with the idea to pay women by-the-kid if they didn’t have a man in the house. Didn’t take long for even married guys to move next door if momma could get a check from it. I’ll never forget him saying “when we get this passed we’ll have these Ns-—voting dimokrat for 200 years.” It’s been screwed up ever since.
