Smart phones. They are more dangerous than a .12 BAL.

Back in the late ‘70s early ‘80s Maryland was trying to curb their traffic accident issue by writing a whole lot more tickets.

The federal government took notice and said “you’re writing a lot of tickets don’t you have your highways under control” and they threatened to stop their Federal Highway money because it on paper it looked as if they didn’t have control of the situation.

Those wascally ‘undocumented, uninsured, unlicensed’ immigrants are likely a part of the equation too.

“...pandemic-era reckless driving...”

Huh? Weren’t there LESS of us on the roads for two years while we were imprisoned in our own homes by Mother Government?

Were those trying to ESCAPE driving more recklessly? The Politicians, perhaps, who ignored their own decrees and were traveling from home base to vacation spots or their second and third homes, perhaps?

Nobody needs a vehicle that can travel in excess of 70mph...

These vehicles aren't the horse/buggy that was available when the constitution was written...

We need to confiscate all personal automobiles...

If it saves even one life...

For the children...

There was pandemic reckless driving? With lockdowns traffic was beautifully light in the Atlanta area

It was partially due to the fact that many states released prisoners during covid. That is why all crime went up.

How many more are crippled and disfigured due to automobile slaughter? How many people woke up happy-go-lucky and their lives crushed by the loss of a close friend or loved one? I liked the 55 mph law. Slow down and smell the roses. Drinkers and speeders should lose their license with no chance of ever getting it back.

We’ve been through the numbers on these statistics, and it’s clear that anti-police race-baiting led to road carnage among blacks.

Obama started it with his “son,” but the Michael Brown (2014) and George Floyd (2017) protests drove disrespect for the law and law enforcement that led to a tremendous increase in black road fatalities between 2014-2021, well over any increase in other races. (And increases in deaths and injuries among other races can be logically attributed to accidents caused by blacks.)

If the numbers are down, it’s because 1) many of the worst offenders have died; and 2) the Left is not riled up against the current regime.
