“...pandemic-era reckless driving...”

Huh? Weren’t there LESS of us on the roads for two years while we were imprisoned in our own homes by Mother Government?

Were those trying to ESCAPE driving more recklessly? The Politicians, perhaps, who ignored their own decrees and were traveling from home base to vacation spots or their second and third homes, perhaps?

In the early days of the lockdowns and other restrictions, we were in the process of moving. I made a number of trips through Phoenix that summer, and noticed two things: that there was a lot less traffic, so people were driving faster, and that police seemed to be spending more time parked beside the freeway and less time pulling people over.

Never before or since have I been able to take a pickup and trailer all the way through the Phoenix metro area with cruise control set at 70 the whole way.
