Blasphemy is hip i guess.
“Jesus wept…”
I think it’s disgusting.
My thoughts exactly.
That image is not all so surprising, considering this is a country in the middle of a very Hot War.
I actaully had expected them to have the Saint driving a
Javelin Muscle Car.
Because anthropomorphizing a manmade weapon into a saint of Heaven is a surefire way to make this a holy war. /s
Santa Muerte for slavs?
> Blasphemy is hip i guess.
It’s just a folk saint. If you were an infantryman facing a squad of tanks hellbent on shredding you and pulping your remains into pink mud you’d be praying for the intervention of St. Javelin of ATGM too…tutting is rather presumptuous…
People who make a point of oppressing civilian populations with armor don’t exactly stand on a pedestal of righteousness…IMHO Russians eschewed the high ground when they invaded and knowingly attacked civilians. Did they even bother to issue a declaration of justification founded in the laws of war?
I’m sure I don’t have to tell you that the saint is the man himself and not his weapon.
(And assuming that’s a depiction of St. Martin of Tours, the comparison is even less fitting, seeing as how the sword cutting his cloak to clothe a beggar isn’t comparable to a manmade missile used as part of a conflict between two corrupt Slavic countries.)
Maybe it’s because it allow a “Hail Mary” pass against a tank.
St Barbara - often depicted with a cannon, being the patroness of artillery.
St John Capistrano (namesake of San Juan Capistrano, the picturesque California town, that of the swallows) - often depicted defeating Turks, and bearing a sword.
Saint James the Greater, or “Santiago Matamoros” is traditionally portrayed as on horseback defeating the Moors. That image is ubiquitous in Spain.
Etc.
Being fairly well versed in the Catholic religion (thanks to 18 years in excellent Catholic schools, and senior seminars with Brother Victor), I can say with some authority that this is not actually blasphemy.
No actual saint is mocked - and that is on its own not a very grave matter. One could say they were having fun with the idea of saintly patronage, but that is mere custom.
So take that stick out of your butt.

Correct. The Ukies may have charity Javelins , but Vlad’s massive artillery has been dictating this war. So, let me get this right- Vlad has also been blessed by St Barbara?
Fact is : Evil is destroying Evil in this conflict. The corrupted little beggar is just as evil as Vlad, more so, I haven’t seen Vlad in high heels.
Support neither, unless you have been infected by the Democrat disease known ad the “ Russian Derangement Syndrome”, similar to the Democrats Trump Derangement Syndrome.
Biden’s Ukie war cheerleaders, carry on.
This is a war of peoples, as they usually are. The “corrupted little beggar” is a personalization useful (to some), for propaganda, but that does not encompass the reality.
It is rather like dismissing Britain in WW2 as a caricature of a drunken Churchill.
Its like calling the US war effort in WW2 a matter only of the whims of Roosevelt.
If, however, your view of reality goes no deeper than propaganda posters, then what can we do?
To add, the Russian artillery seems to have lost its position of advantage.
And if having superior artillery was an actual argument of right, then the moral right would have been with the Turks, for a couple of hundred years. It was the Turkish artillery that breached the walls of Constantinople.
Perfect for idiots perhaps, and boy do you fit that billing perfectly.
