Modi rebukes Putin over war in Ukraine
The Washington Post ^ | September 16, 2022 | Mary Ilyushina

Posted on 09/16/2022 8:54:19 AM PDT by Timber Rattler

Bluntly challenged by Indian Prime Minister Nerandra Modi over the war in Ukraine, Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday said that Russia would strive to stop the conflict “as soon as possible” but then blamed Ukraine for refusing to negotiate, though Putin ordered the invasion and his troops are still occupying a large swath of Ukrainian territory.

Putin’s remarks came during an appearance with Modi, in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, where they are attending a meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

In a stunning public rebuke, Modi told Putin: “Today’s era is not an era of war, and I have spoken to you on the phone about this.”

Modi’s remark, as the two leaders sat in front of journalists and cameras, came a day after Putin acknowledged he had heard “concerns and questions” about the war from Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Responding to Modi, Putin said: “I know your position on the conflict in Ukraine, about your concerns that you constantly express. We will do our best to stop this as soon as possible. Only, unfortunately, the opposing side, the leadership of Ukraine, announced its abandonment of the negotiation process, declared that it wants to achieve its goals by military means, as they say, ‘on the battlefield.’ Nevertheless, we will always keep you informed of what is happening there.”

Well, well, well.

Of course, the real translation (and Xi too) is "You will give us better discount".

LOL, if you say so.

You may have noticed Russia didn’t limit their operations to
those regions.

You had noticed that right?

Why do you guys make it so easy?

It’s been an open *secret* for months, but anyone stating so has received the same treatment as anyone stating that the virus is a bioweapon, inoculation is dangerous and is harming people or the election of 2020 was stolen or Hunter Biden used his father’s office to profit for the entire Biden family or....

It was everywhere when I searched in Startpage. So, I guess that we shall see if there is any fallout.

Sort of been a firehose of Revelation the past several weeks on several controversial topics.

The capital letter *R* is NOT a typo.

Let me know when they stop buying Russian oil. Modi can quit BRICS and join NATO. Brussels and DC would welcome a NATO presence on the Chinese border. What do you expect him say? This is his ally in the joint attempt to stave off total globalist control of their culture and country. Both he and Xi put these statements out the same way Modi and Putin will after Xi blockades Taiwan. As has always been the case, you will ally yourself with a lesser threat to counter a perceived greater threat. Modi will deal with Putin because he will need Russian food and natural resources that the West will no longer guarantee. Modi sees Russia and China as lesser threats than the decadent west’s globalism. After seeing the same globalists destroy America and the EU, he is most definitely following the correct course for the benefit of Indian citizens.

Merry Christmas, a bit early! One does not even have to include the Ukies’ claims and charges.

You will be appalled, but then can enjoy the ammo...

You may have noticed Russia didn’t limit their operations to those regions.

The Russian encirclement of Kiev brought Zelenski to the negotiating table with a serious offer that Russia was ready to accept.

If the psychopaths running the bankrupt West hadn't intervened, the war would have likely ended, Russia would have withdrawn to pre-Feb 24 positions and Ukraine would remain neutral.

Instead we'll have a protracted war in Europe, worldwide inflation, with growing economic distress, dysfunction and social unrest.

Good job neo-clowns...you'll be laughing out the other side of your mouth soon enough.

You know, I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but you
folks beclown yourselves.

No leader of a nation is going to simply accept another
nation coming along and annexing his nation’s territory.

If you can’t grasp that, it’s a waste of time even reading
your rants.

Oh good, so just like Biden, you admit this is all Putin's for invading Ukraine.

Oh, so if Battle Creek, Michigan invites China to invade the
U.S., it’s alright then?

Following the Putin doctrine Los Angeles could “invite” Mexico. Then have Mexico raise their flag and tells our kids Spanish is the only language of school instruction.

Don’t forget the local election where it would be made to look
like 98% of the voters were happy to be a part of Mexico.

Modi rebukes Putin over war in Ukraine

Also, Xi just told Putin, Kazakhstan is in their sphere of influence. Sign of declining Russian power.

It also quoted Xi making a strong statement in support of Kazakhstan -- one that seemed likely to resonate in the context of neighboring Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

"No matter how the international situation changes, we will continue to resolutely support Kazakhstan in protecting its independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity, firmly support your ongoing reforms to ensure stability and development, and categorically oppose the interference of any forces in the internal affairs of your country," Xi was quoted as saying.

“All societies have a right to collective defense.”

As did Ukraine, courtesy of the Budapest Memorandum.

That Russia itself helped to draft.

To ensure that if any nation invaded Ukraine, Belarus+Russia+USA+UK would take action if asked by Ukraine.

Putin knew if he ordered boots into Ukraine without Kyiv’s express consent it would be a violation of its own binding agreement... and he knew that’d drag the USA and UK into the conflict.

This is how world War One started. A invades B and B invokes the treaty bringing in C to defend against A which then drags D in to defend A from C, and so on.

All Putin had to do was check that Pushilin and co were not bullshitting about an imminent invasion by Ukraine, and not jump the gun.

The separatist MILITANTS made this claim, and offered not one shred of evidence to back it up... and they were bullshitting. No such invasion was taking place.

They’d also been bullshitting about genocide for 3 years... according to their own genocide investigators.

Can you explain that, Bob?

The absurdities are plentiful.

Russia presents them.

There are some pro Ukraine news stories that sound is if they
are rather flagrant as well. The trouble is, over the long
haul the things called propaganda by the Russia favoring
neocons, wind up fitting the outcomes much better than those
neocons version do.

If all those reports were merely propaganda, then why is
Russia needing to call up more troops, now no longer in
control of quite a bit of real-estate they controlled
months ago? Russia’s leading military aircraft also had
to be withdrawn from Crimea.

How does this misfortune befall Russia, if all the negative
reports are false?

Frankly, it doesn’t.

Tass reports things that are terrible for Putin, but who
dare’s claim it’s propaganda.

It’s a great big mess.

“We are buying a lot of Russian oil”

It’s damn good oil - very low in sulfur.
