‘Stochastic Terrorism’ Is The Newest Way The Left Plans To Censor Dissent

Far left activists have recently deployed a “sophisticated, academic-sounding” crowbar to batter tech companies and ideological dissenters alike, but the strategy is getting mixed reviews from free speech and extremism experts interviewed by the Daily Caller.

Instances of the phrase “stochastic terrorism” have seen a massive spike online since 2016 and more recently in the last few months, as activists seek to de-platform and censor personalities and brands that refuse to hew to their particular worldview.

“I believe concept creep helps explain the sudden and relatively recent uptick in the phrase ‘stochastic terrorism,'” Komi Frey, a research fellow at the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression (FIRE) told the Caller. “The term ‘terrorism’ understandably evokes fear, so it captures people’s attention. Furthermore, the government can take very extreme measures to combat and punish terrorism.”

The phrase is a familiar one to those who have followed the recent reporting of

Well gee whiz that sure sounds threatening eh. "stochastic" So, here is what wikipedia show for that:

Stochastic (from Greek στόχος (stókhos) 'aim, guess'[1]) refers to the property of being well described by a random probability distribution.[1] Although stochasticity and randomness are distinct in that the former refers to a modeling approach and the latter refers to phenomena themselves, these two terms are often used synonymously. Furthermore, in probability theory, the formal concept of a stochastic process is also referred to as a random process.[2][3][4][5][6]

Stochasticity is used in many different fields, including the natural sciences such as biology,[7] chemistry,[8] ecology,[9] neuroscience,[10] and physics,[11] as well as technology and engineering fields such as image processing, signal processing,[12] information theory,[13] computer science,[14] cryptography,[15] and telecommunications.[16] It is also used in finance, due to seemingly random changes in financial markets[17][18][19] as well as in medicine, linguistics, music, media, colour theory, botany, manufacturing, and geomorphology. Stochastic modeling is also used in social science.

IOW another big word with so many meanings it's virtually pointless. Guess the last one "used in social science" is their target? But, who knows with these assclowns?

Stochastic is a fine word, and like many words it gets abused by people who don’t have the intellect to understand it’s original definition or application. I think it was in 1983 or 84 that I had a college course in stochastic systems. Back then, the meaning of the was very specific. It was a required course for CompSci majors. While not particularly difficult, it is very helpful in modeling and design of complex multi-variable systems where randomness is a concern.

Just translate “stochastic” as “imaginary”. As in: “That right winger is committing imaginary terrorism! Because he hurt my feelings, so I imagine him as no different than a terrorist!”

The democrats have always been evil commie parasites. Why it’s gotten worse is because the so called “good guys” became compromised, then black mailed into submission. Throw money or sex at the average man and watch him fold. There’s your reason why America has turned to crap.

We see this all the time where the left comes up with a word or phrase that they all glom on to that has no basis in reality but is repeated ad nauseum. Remember the “war on women” and “dog whistle”? They treat it almost like a magical incantation. Is there a name for this phenomenon?

“Stochastic terrorism” seems to refer to when someone says or does something, that leads to unpredictable terrorist like actions in some rando. Seems the main types of generating events are Speech and...ready for this?

Memes.

The left can’t meme (*see below). But speech that leads to a rando (antifa, BLM,...) torching something, or shooting up the R ballfield? THAT is what leftists are experts at. See Breitbart front page today. Hank Johnson and Mazie Hirono did just that.

For speech, I suggest we hijack the term immediately, and start using it en-masse to describe what dems do all the time. They do it 100 times more often than the right. So now we have a “lib approved” label for it, that you can bet msm has been primed to hear....just not from us! Haha.

Now...memes. Political cartoons have been around forever. Some have literally changed the world. Why? They are extremely powerful, and easy to understand. And best ones are humorous.

Humor via memes is one type, mainly. Ridicule. Sound familiar? From Alinsky’s best seller, “Rules For Radicals:

“Rule five: Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon. It’s hard to counterattack ridicule, and it infuriates the opposition, which then reacts to your advantage.”

He’s right. And memes are a powerful, compact, succinct, way of very effective Ridicule.

And the left HATES memes, because of that, but also because they suck at it.

So now they’ve invented a new term that will be used to censor memes from the right. And since the term itself means, “random,” nobody can “prove it didn’t! (lead to violence)”” which is how they will use it.

*Best memes are humorous, as Alinsky says, “Rule 6: A good tactic is one your people enjoy. They’ll keep doing it without urging and come back to do more. They’re doing their thing, and will even suggest better ones.”

So memes hit two rules with one picture, including the most powerful tactic. And since the left has no humor, they can’t do it well.

So...keep meming! And call out their speech as, “stochastic terrorism.”

Just translate “stochastic” as “imaginary”.

Stochastic is better described as actions occurring with varying degrees of probability or randomness.

It’s amazing how long I went through life not knowing that word. And how little impact it had once I learned it.

A different term may be needed. Few out of academia would ever use it in normal speech. That term is even more obscure, more nebulous than “existentialism”.
Another “One size fits all” type of terms that sounds impressive at first hearing.
