The U.S. Army has released guidance for soldiers as they fight inflation, including a suggestion that they take advantage of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), commonly known as food stamps.

SNAP, a benefit for low-income Americans, is a program for which "service members and their families may be eligible," the guidance said, pointing soldiers and their families to the SNAP website and phone number. SNAP is one of several options discussed as part of the Army's Financial Readiness Program.

"With inflation affecting everything from gas prices to groceries to rent, some Soldiers and their families are finding it harder to get by on the budgets they’ve set and used before," guidance from Sergeant Major Michael Grinston said. "Soldiers of all ranks can seek guidance, assistance, and advice through the Army’s Financial Readiness Program."

$80 billion going to Ukraine being kept here for our soldiers would more than fix this.

Grosses me out. Why can’t they do it on base?

“OK. First Squad, you circle around the left. Don’t let that machine gun get you.

Second Squad, you go back to the Food Stamp office to take care of your family.”

Not the first time enlisted personnel have had to rely on food stamps to make ends meet. I’ve had to do it the first couple of years I was in the Navy.

“Pay them more maybe, you think?”

An E-3 with 2 years in gets $32k a year, a roof over his head and free medical.

If he is off base he gets another $20k tax free.

Not bad for an untrained grunt.

And yet, the military is deeming it fit to suggest to them that they utilize SNAP.....

And your right, when I was in, we weren’t making that kind of money.

If they weren’t in a hurry to rename NINE MILITARY POSTS, they could use the money to help feed their own at the mess halls. I guess the new Army doesn’t care about families anymore. They are trying to satisfy the BLM hos.

My understanding has been that married enlisted personnel with children have always qualified for food stamps.

I knew of this in the eighties. Reagan fixed it I think.

Anyway it was a disgusting shame then as it is now.
