Ukrainian Officials Drew on U.S. Intelligence to Plan Counteroffensive
The New York Times ^ | September 10, 2022 | Julian E. Barnes and Helene Cooper

Senior Ukrainian officials stepped up intelligence sharing with their American counterparts over the summer as they began to plan the counteroffensive that allowed them to make dramatic gains in the northeast in recent days, a shift that allowed the United States to provide better and more relevant information about Russian weaknesses, according to American officials.

Throughout the war, the United States has provided Ukraine with information on command posts, ammunition depots and other key nodes in the Russian military lines. Such real-time intelligence has allowed the Ukrainians — who U.S. officials acknowledge have played the decisive role in planning and execution — to target Russian forces, kill senior generals and force ammunition supplies to be moved farther from the Russian front lines.

But earlier on, American intelligence officials said they often had a better understanding of Russia’s military plans than of Ukraine’s. Concerned that sharing their operational plans could highlight weaknesses and discourage continued American support, the Ukrainians were closely guarding their operational plans even as American intelligence was gathering precise details on what the Kremlin was ordering and Russian commanders were planning.

But as Ukraine laid its plans to strike back against the Russians, senior leaders in Kyiv decided that sharing more information with the United States would help secure more assistance, American officials said.

Senior U.S. officials declined to say how much details from the counteroffensive plan Ukraine had shared and how much advice the United States had offered. But one official said Americans had “constantly” discussed with Kyiv ways that Ukraine could blunt the Russian advance in the country’s east.

“Our Weapons, Ms. Sheehan. Our weapons.”

You say “Our weapons” because you are an American citizen.

Others would say “Biden’s weapons” or “your weapons” because... well....

Don’t trust anything Yermak says - he’s part of the problem - a large part of the Ukrasine government problem and has done more damage to Ukraine than the Russians. His father was KGB and he was FSB.

Yermak runs the Presidential Administration which runs and governs the country. Not Parliament, not Zelenski.

The problem with this Biden nwo obsession is, it only stands up if one assumes that

(a) USA not Ukraine was making the decisions about what Ukraine wanted/needed and has only done it since Biden came to office)

(b) Ukraine felt no internal need to tool up, because Russia was being so benign to its ex Soviet neighbors and wasn’t ever talking about taking back control of them... So they unnecessarily sold their souls to NWO

(c) China and Russia aren’t doing anything similar to what USA/NATO does... with dozens of other countries around the world (Russkyi Mir investments, arming regimes, strings attached etc)

(d) there’s something inherently wrong with Ukraine wanting to align with the west INSTEAD OF returning to being Russia’s bitch

The Russia, China orbit challenges Western rules bases, and it is going global. But it’s not globalist. Yeah, right. Our NWO is dodgy as hell, but theirs won’t be. Yeah, right.

What does multipolarism mean for the long term, in practice? Deregulation across the board in BRICS? Blockchain with decentralised banking, in BRICS? Half the world abandoning the standards frameworks adopted over decades by developed countries, because the deregulated BRICS is cheaper to implement?

Lower quality standards, on everything from finance to data security and privacy, safety etc, don’t need to apply in their NWO. Just, don’t argue with China or Russia over anything and it’ll all be fine.

I’m no fan of the current WO and the Davos NWO is dodgy as hell, but I’m really not sold on the idea behind multipolarism either. I’m baffled at the mindset of people who think Russia and China are cooking up some totally benign alternative to Soros/Schwab rather than just creating their own version of it.

Actually no. In part there is very little news reports that have shown or revealed Russia’s part in this (from their perspective) right from the get go. On the other hand an enormous amount of information coming from Ukraine via almost all media sources.

Further the field of war is known to change as are targeted areas - in this case Russia did have specific targets. And determined the land areas they want to control and take under RUssian control for whatever period.

We won’t know what this will be until Russia proclaims their “Mission” as they called it is accomplished.....and the land determined.

We abandoned the RVN when the Democrat-controlled US Congress cut off the funding. The Democrats told Nixon in 1969 that they would cease to fund the war. which left Nixon with very few options.

The US military was never defeated in Vietnam; rather, the Democrats in Congress surrendered to the NVA, which put the writing on the wall. I was in the USAF 1970-1974, and I have hated Democrats ever since.
