Due to horrible financial conditions under the Biden administration, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg is reportedly laying the groundwork for mass layoffs at Meta. Managers “who are unable to get on track” could lose their jobs as part of the cuts, Reuters reports.
Zuckerberg is expected to identify employee performance as the reasoning behind the layoffs. Critics have accused Facebook of “going woke” by using left-wing fact-checkers to censor conservative voices on the platform.
During a weekly employee meeting, Zuckerberg said,” If I had to bet, I’d say that this might be one of the worst downturns that we’ve seen in recent history.”
“Realistically, there are probably a bunch of people at the company who shouldn’t be here,” Zuckerberg stated.
“Part of my hope by raising expectations and having more aggressive goals, and just kind of turning up the heat a little bit, is that I think some of you might decide that this place isn’t for you, and that self-selection is OK with me,” he added.

Do they pay bots?
Getting kicked off Facebook years ago was a great blessing. I never regretted leaving that appalling thing.
Wow. He sounds toxic. Toxic to the country, toxic to employees. Why doesn’t he just initiate daily ceremonies of fealty? ....Probably already does.
Zuck wasted billions and billions on his Metaberse boondoggle.
Facebook itself peaked years ago - now on it’s downslope with no young people signing up and universally disliked by the society its trying to profit from.
Zuckerberg needs prosecution for election interference.
As the old saying goes, if after looking at the site you can’t tell for sure what is being sold — it is likely that the site is selling your participation.
My wife nor I have managed to last two decades without registering with FakeBook. Miss some family things but hey, it’s a racket.
Turns out that huge investment in the fake Meta world wasn’t profitable...who knew?
Pretty sure zuck ain’t hurting. Yet.
ikr, my heart breaks for him!!!
All I can say is bwahahahahahahaha.
“This is what sunk Sun Microsystems.
They were so concentrated on attacking Intel and Windows, they stopped improving their product.”
Sun thought the bubble wouldn’t burst.
“Meta” needs to be driven out of business. Not only are they relentlessly “woke,” they censor their customer’s content based on orders from the White House and the FBI. That shouldn’t be acceptable to any American with two working brain cells.
Do = did
monopoly
[ muh-nop-uh-lee ], noun, plural mo·nop·o·lies.
1. exclusive control of a commodity or service in a particular market, or a control that makes possible the manipulation of prices.Compare duopoly, oligopoly.
2. an exclusive privilege to carry on a business, traffic, or service, granted by a government.
3. the exclusive possession or control of something.
4. something that is the subject of such control, as a commodity or service. a company or group that has such control.
5. the market condition that exists when there is only one seller.
Prescinding from Meta not being a monopoly, you seem to argue for a non-market approach to breaking up Meta. That is, anti-trust law (which, btw, relies upon a bastardized interpretation of the Commerce Clause).
That would mean - wait for it...yes... - THE JUSTICE DEPARTMENT would prosecute Meta.
The Antitrust Division of the United States Department of Justice is a law enforcement organization that is responsible for enforcing the antitrust laws of the United States. It has sole jurisdiction over the prosecution of criminal antitrust violations in the United States.
You can put your faith in Merrick Garland, who would likely MANDATE that everyone have a Meta chip embedded in their skull. Because, ya know, the Commerce Clause gives the govt that right.
I'll stick with The Invisible Hand.
Agree 100%
So, that $400,000,000 you paid to make the Biden administration possible was repaid with "horrible financial conditions."
Karma's a bitch, eh Mark?
Facebook Marketplace works well locally. I can’t imagine anyone seriously using it for social media at this point however.
The best thing is to have one’s own website. Co..u inaction by email or text.
All good people like VDH and Steyn are staying away from platforms and using their own sites.
This was more interesting when it was first published mid July. Kind of old news now... (but good for some to catch up..)
