LIVE UPDATES UPDATED FRI, SEP 9 20224:34 AM EDT Ukraine recaptures nearly 400 square miles of territory; Ukrainian Defense Ministry quotes Queen Elizabeth II

Ukraine’s counteroffensives in the country’s south and northeast are gaining momentum, President Zelenskyy said, retaking territory and pressuring Russian troops. Ukrainian forces have recaptured 1,000 square kilometers (386 square miles) of land, he said in his nightly address.

Over the summer, Ukraine had said it would launch a counteroffensive to retake the southern city of Kherson, but had not mentioned any plans to counterattack in the northeastern Kharkiv region or elsewhere in the east. Analysts say Kyiv could now be taking advantage of Russia’s decision to redeploy troops to southern Ukraine.

Russia’s top lawmaker slammed the Group of Seven’s plan for a price cap on Russian oil exports, saying it will only push prices higher and would turn their “price ceiling” into a “floor.”

Ukraine’s Defense Ministry posted a list of Russian military personnel and equipment losses since the start of the war on Feb. 24, along with a quote from the late Queen Elizabeth II, who died on Sept. 8.

The quote, which was delivered in 1940 in a radio broadcast by Queen Elizabeth II to the children of the commonwealth when she was still a princess, read: “When peace comes, remember it will be for us, the children of today, to make the world of tomorrow a better and happier place.”

So you’re shilling for Shapiro now with some random meaningless blog spouting some random meaningless poll?

LOL! Your attempt at deflection and distraction is laughable, Comrade Jon.

Why not do both, defeat and evict the Russians in Ukraine and also help Doug beat Shapiro in Pennsylvania. Those goals are not mutually exclusive, especially considering that the Colonel spent that last years of his career at NATO headquarters and the Army War College, where he published two very prescient studies about the Russian threat to Ukraine and the Baltic States.

Project 1704: A U.S. Army War College Analysis of Russian Strategy in Eastern Europe, an Appropriate U.S. Response, and the Implications for U.S. Landpower

Project 1721: A U.S. Army War College Assessment on Russian Strategy in Eastern Europe and Recommendations on how to Leverage Landpower to Maintain the Peace

So let me assure you that Colonel Mastriano is also keenly interested in seeing the Russians defeated too, considering that he spent much of his career planning for an eventual attack against NATO.

When was the last time the residents of Pennsylvania, or America for that matter, successfully accomplished two simultaneous political efforts? Hmm? I know the answer in case you get stuck. Now please stop pimping for Biden's war and help elect Mastriano. Knock on doors, make phone calls do something useful for crying out loud.

You’re likely right. Election fraud continues because people are distracted. Or are they distracted? I’m beginning to believe nothing is an accident.

The Ukraine war is not a US political effort.

The US national policy here is decided and ongoing, and is supported by an actual bipartisan majority. US materiel is entering Ukraine in quantity.
The only opposition in the US is by a small majority. And its only real activity is online commentary. You all cant do anything about what is playing out over there.
All anyone can do at this point is watch.

So feel free to stop worrying about Ukraine and go ahead and fundraise or walk the precincts for the US elections. And I really do mean it. Get off your butt.

I suppose Queen Elizabeth just died to distract Americans from politics. That sort of thinking is simply insane.

Pardon me if I don’t join you in your faux mourning over the natural death of a 96 year old woman. Please tune into any one of hundreds of non-stop cable news outlets to hear the news repeated over and over and over.

Yep, the Ukraine is currently polling in the lower 10% of important midterm issues. Only Think Tank posters remain obsessed.

These numbers need to be taken with a grain of salt. They may well be accurate, but we will only know for sure long after the war, probably, when it will be of historical interest.

Anyway, the best information on the general state of affairs is the ownership of ground and the performance of units. Its looking very good so far, and even better in unofficial info from Russian sources (Telegram and such).

I will be happy to see that Ukraine not only has taken the ground it has, but has sealed the deal by withstanding Russian counterattacks and that it has taken lots of prisoners.

You may want to check with things that matter to your wives and mothers. QEII is far bigger news than Ukraine.
