Yes, I remember Tipper Gore and the PMRC. That heavy-handed approach to censoring music was everything the liberals accuse US of doing!

Also, once those "explicit" stickers were slapped on those CDs, the kids snapped them up like hotcakes. It got to the point where some rock bands purposely put a little obscenity in their songs in order to obtain the coveted sticker - much in the same way the movie industry goes out of its way to ensure at least a PG-13 rating when their target audience is 13 or above. Otherwise a "G" rating can be the kiss of death for a movie targeted to that demographic.
