A military band canceled its appearance at the annual “Carolina Celebration of Liberty” concert because it was held at a church.
The 246th Army Band of the South Carolina National Guard removed itself from the annual celebration held in June at the First Baptist Church in Columbia.
The decision was made after they were ordered to cease and desist by the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, a national organization that gets triggered by the Holy Bible and the Baby Jesus.

The cease and desist ‘order’ did not come from the state or federal gov’t or a judge. The so-called order came from a private group and had no force of law. No doubt it contained a lot of legal mumbo-jumbo designed to itimidate the the National Guard Band, which it did, but the National Guard should have just ignored it.
A very disappointing article that needs a “Palmetto State” ping.
Thanks, Bro!
Absolutely right. Now let’s see if anyone in SC government steps in to correct the situation.
Ordered??? Really???
This bunch of braying jackasses has absolutely no authority, and the only proper response to their idiocy is "pound sand".
Yup. Just what you would expect from an administration that used the military as a backdrop for its 20 minute hate speech directed at conservatives, Christians, and pro-lifers.
One wonders if this is an armed force that would do anything a phone call from Team Biden ordered it to do.
Welcome Race Bannon!

Yup. Either the SC general mistook who was ordering him to stop the band as part of the chain of command. Coming out of Biden’s woke Pentagon such an order would not be a surprise. Or, he capitulated to avoid any career threatening smears that he is a right wing nationalist.
The only way they could tie this into the “no establish clause” in the Constitution, (first amendment as there is no such thing as a no establishment clause written into the Constitution, it is being called that so they can sound official), is that this event happens once a year and the band is invited. If the organization wishes, they can have their own event and invite the band. As long as it stays within the first amendment restrictions. No one has violated anything.
The jag should have contacted them and informed them that the band is free for events as their schedule allows and that they can be contracted for most events like this. The MRFF is just blowing smoke to get their 5 minutes of fame.

How stupid. My granddaughter in in the USNA glee club. They perform in churches regularly.
Just a clear demonstration of the overall state of our wimpish military after just two years of communist rule...
The military will continue to train (like good fairies & faggots) for their appearances at LGBT, BLM, and other woke events...
What if they played OUT OF UNIFORM????
I had to stand at attention in St Paul’s Cathedral in New York for 3 hours as a Coast Guard Base Honor Guard member/appointee. That was one of my proudest moments as a teenager. We had lots of six foot five guys(tall guys in case a Coast Guard ship sinks you can walk to shore)
This went on throughout the Obama era when Mickey Weinstein could call the Sec Def directly to demand even a picture be taken down in an Idaho Air Force base dining hall.
