The Russians on the "Southern Front" received large reinforcements for half a day via the Crimean bridge
The elite Ukrainian units that attempted the "Kherson counter-offensive" for the past six days did not achieve anything, and they paid for that with huge casualties and losses.
They briefly took over Blagodatnoe and another smaller settlement and wedged themselves into Russian positions southeast of Suho Stavok, 3-4 kilometers away, but the counterattack was so powerful that they had to return to their starting lines with two captured positions.
In the last 24 hours, the Ukris had 230 casualties, and they also lost 23 tanks and 27 armored infantry fighting vehicles, plus two Su-25 assault rifles.
In the six days of the Kherson counter-offensive, at least 3000 people died and 6-7 were wounded.

The first Ukrainian servicemen from the Kharkov region who refused to take part in the fighting and surrendered to the Allied forces were allowed to return to their families, a RIA Novosti correspondent who spoke with former soldiers reports.
The detainees are released on condition that they live in the liberated territories and did not take part in hostilities after February 24, and are not involved in war crimes of the Kiev regime.
The first batch of those who returned to their homes included three Ukrainian contractors.
All ex-servicemen who have passed the inspection will have to be registered with the authorities in the liberated territories, and they will be temporarily banned from leaving the region.

Russia is going to keep gas production volumes on account of increasing liquefied natural gas (LNG) deliveries and construction of pipelines to China, Energy Minister Nikolay Shulginov told TASS in the interview at the Eastern Economic Forum.
“The capacity of the Power of Siberia-2 [gas pipeline] will be almost 50 bln cubic meters per year according to the plan. We will not merely scale up the pipeline capacity but we will also expand LNG production: it has mobility and excellent purchases on the global market. We will change the policy and endeavor to keep basic volumes of production. We have reserves actually,” Shulginov said.
“We expect the LNG production growth to 80-100 mln [tonnes] by 2030 against current 30 mln. The increase is significant,” the Minister added.

In reality, protests are breaking out against Russian sanctions in major European cities, governments there are being overturned with no confidence votes, and summer isn't even over.
The West will be begging for an end to this stupid war before the end of the year...count on it.

The U.S. kicked butt in Afghanistan and Iraq. But, even after a generation, the Afghanis and the Arab-Iraqis would not fight for themselves. Thus, after we left, those countries lost their freedom.
The Ukrainians are different (and so are the Kurdish-Iraqis). They fight. There’s a reason our national anthem ends “the land of the free and the home of the brave.” If you don’t have it in you to fight, you’re going to be somebody else’s slave.
To be sure, in addition to be willing to fight, you need to be big enough or have the support of others big enough to be able to resist invasion by an imperial power. Putin hates NATO because it enables the peoples of eastern Europe to resist Russia.

In reality, they are protesting for Government bailouts and subsidies for the high fuel and electric prices.
Opinion in favor of supporting the Ukraine has grown, and favorable opinions of Russia have dropped even more. Wait until the war crimes trials start, and the details get dragged out. Then we will probably see growth in actively anti-Russian hostility spread beyond Poland and the Baltics.
