PROMISE YOURSELF

Promise yourself to be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind;

...to speak of health, happiness, and prosperity to every person that you meet;

...to make all your friends aware of the special qualities within them;

...to look at the sunny side of everything and let your optimism work to make your dreams come true;

...to think, work for, and expect only the best; to be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own;

...to forget past mistakes and press on towards a greater future;

...to wear a cheerful countenance at all times, as a smile radiates warmth and love;

...to give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time left to criticize others;

...to be too wise for worry, too tolerant for anger, and too courageous for fear.

Promise yourself to be HAPPY!

Rediscovered
Read: 2 Chronicles 34:29–31

He read in their hearing all the words of the Book of the Covenant, which had been found in the temple of the Lord. 2 Chronicles 34:30

In 1970, a car executive visiting Denmark learned that a 1939 Buick Dual Cowl Phaeton was owned by a local resident. Since the car never actually went into production, it was a rare find—a one-of-kind vehicle. Delighted with the discovery, the executive bought the car and spent his time and money to have it restored. Currently, this unique car is featured in a world-renowned collection of classic vehicles.

Hidden treasures can take many forms, and in the book of 2 Chronicles we read about another discovery of a lost treasure. Eighteen years into his reign as king of Judah, Josiah began to repair the temple in Jerusalem. During the process, the priest Hilkiah found the “Book of the Law in the temple” (2 Chronicles 34:15). The Book of the Law, the first five books of the Old Testament, had likely been hidden away decades earlier to keep it safe from invading armies. Over time it had been simply forgotten.

When King Josiah was told about this discovery, he realized the importance of the find. Josiah called all the people together and read the entire Book of the Law so they could commit themselves to keep all that was written in it (vv. 30–31).

Still important for our lives today, we have the amazing blessing of access to all sixty-six books of the Bible, a treasure of infinite worth.Lisa M. Samra

How did you come to know the Bible as a treasure? How have you grown in your understanding of its great worth?

Heavenly Father, help me to delight in the treasure of the Scriptures today.

Bible in a year: Psalms 143–145; 1 Corinthians 14:21–40

Dear God:
I ask that no Airman, Coast Guardsman,
Marine, Sailor, Soldier, Reservist, National Guardsman, or Merchant Marine
feel alone or forgotten.

O Israel, hope in the Lord;
For with the Lord there is loving kindness,
And with Him is abundant redemption.
And He will redeem Israel
From all his iniquities.

Psalm 130:7 & 8

He Who blessed our forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - may He bless the fighters of the Israel Defense Force, who stand guard over our land and the cities of our G-d from the border of the Lebanon to the desert of Egypt, and from the Great Sea unto the approach of the Aravah, on the land, in the air, and on the sea.

May HASHEM cause the enemies who rise up against us to be struck down before them. May the Holy One, Blessed is He, preserve and rescue our fighting men from every trouble and distress and from every plague and illness, and may He send blessing and success in their every endeavor.

May He lead our enemies under their sway and may He grant them salvation and crown them with victory. And may there be fulfilled for them the verse: For it is Hashem, your G-d, Who goes with you to battle your enemies for you to save you.

G-d bless and keep your children safe, Alouette.

Howdy, Kathy.

Were you ever able to get yesterday’s work finished so you can have a little free time this weekend?

Last Living D-Day Pathfinder Pilot on the Mission That Changed the War

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R0yoO0cdC3s

David Hamilton was born into a proud military family whose genealogy stretches back to founding father Alexander Hamilton. The day after the attack on Pearl Harbor, Hamilton walked into a recruiting station and volunteered for duty.

Late on June 5, 1944, Hamilton climbed into the pilot’s seat of his specially outfitted Douglas C-47 loaded with paratroopers and set off across the English Channel. He was one of 20 select pilots and crews trained in secrecy known as the “Elites” who were to drop pathfinder troops behind enemy lines to begin the D-Day invasion.

Following D-Day, Hamilton went on to perform other Pathfinder missions, such as Operation Dragoon, the invasion of Provence in Southern France, on Aug 15th, 1944, & Operation Market Garden over The Netherlands a month later. Additionally, Hamilton led the cargo planes over Bastogne, Belgium to drop supplies to the 101st Airborne Divn when Nazi forces had surrounded them during the Battle of the Bulge in Dec, 1944.

Nope...still a lot of stuff to do, but I told my boss yesterday I would be working this weekend trying to catch up. Next week is a pay week AND the week starts on Tuesday. Sooo, I want some of this stuff hanging over my head done.

But my biggest, to me, issue is that since the “update” my websites/graphics are all blocked. So I’m trying to get my laptop set up so I can use it while I work and see my stuff.

Went into the office earlier today. Ruthe brought pizza and we took some to just sit and talk. It was REALLY nice.

Hey there, radu!

Did ya have a good weekend at the museum? Hope you were busy enough not to be bored. Good weather for it?

It’s been very nice here. If it weren’t for the darn mosquitoes, I’d be sitting outside right now. It’s the perfect temperature, and the humidity has gone down some. Thank goodness! LOL!
