Nolte: Only 28% Say Electric Vehicles Are ‘Practical’
Breitbart ^ | 08/31/2022 | John Notle

Posted on 08/31/2022 8:25:13 AM PDT by ChicagoConservative27

A Rasmussen survey of 1,000 adults shows only 28 percent believe electric vehicles are “practical for most drivers.” Meanwhile, a clear majority of 54 percent say they are not. Eighteen percent are unsure.

When asked to look a decade into the future, which will be just a few years before California outlaws gas-powered vehicles, a whopping 69 percent say it is “very” (37 percent) or “somewhat” (32 percent) likely that most cars will run primarily on gasoline. Only 23 percent disagree.

Correct. I wouldn’t mind one in that circumstance - but then, why just have one puddle-jumper for “commute” and another for “travel”?

By the time President Trump becomes President again, this EV hoax will have been proven, and the American people will have soundly rejected it and the people who support it!

We the People will have elected a sane President, a sane Congress and a sane Senate!

They will end this “Green New Deal” insanity!

Chinese powered EVs, solar panel “farms” and windmills will become a footnote documenting the disastrous insanity of LIEberal politicians!

Al Gore, AOC and the “Squad” will be footnotes to the “Climate Change” insanity, also!

January 20, 2025 cannot come too soon!

That is why a golf cart is a better option for the EV and a whole lot less expensive and much easier to charge.

I think for driving around town etc. they are probably OK. I sure would not want to drive one at a distance on a regular basis.

Labor Day weekend coming up.

Summer’s last hurrah...

I don’t know how anyone will tow a boat and/or an RV with an EV...

I’ll more than occasionally forget to plug in my smartphone overnight. Imagine forgetting to plug in your car.

You’ve hit on a core issue that requires one either have:

1. Common sense or
2. Scientific knowledge

Look at who is pushing these things. Politicians, very few of whom have one or both of the above requirements.

If you spend a week or so researching the subject it becomes apparent that “fossil” fuels are absolutely essential ( I say “fossil” because natural gas is present in other parts of the solar system). Nuclear power is absolutely essential.

All the rest, even hydroelectric, only contribute relatively small amounts to our overall energy budget.

Wind and solar won’t get us there.

Not to mention the huge tractors, combines and other large diesel powered machines — you know, the huge machines that make modern farming actually work!

Yep, I’m planning to do a 700 mile (each way) road trip over a holiday weekend. Given recharges needed and demand for charging spots it’s not possible with any current electric car.

I kind of like the hybrid ones. Seems the best of both worlds. Elon Musk claims those are only for the “transition” to electric but I don’t see why. . .

You still can’t convince me that either A/C or heating doesn’t kill a battery charge by 50% of normal range. Those take a LOT of energy.

“Exactly, that’s another hidden gem that idiots need to understand - how much it’s going to cost for them to “upgrade” their own house. “

Not a hidden gem. And why do you refer to fellow creepers as idiots?

We recently ate at a restaurant that had a YUGE charging station for Teslas.

We were able to get a nice lunch, which we lingered over, wait for the bill, hit the can, queue to pay and still left before any of the Tesla owners who were already there before we arrived.

No thanks.

“Electric vehicles are practical only as a commuter car and if you can plug it in at your house and keep it in your garage.”

Which is a large share of the market.
