Whereas California, Oregon and Washington are banning all gasoline powered vehicles by 2035,
Whereas gasoline and diesel fuel are plentiful, and vehicles with internal combustion engines are reliable, plentiful and serviceable,
Whereas the infrastructure to distribute gasoline and diesel fuel is in place, widespread, reliable and safe,
Whereas people are defrauded by EV manufacturers regarding their range claims,
Whereas the infrastructure and generating capacity of states is not in place to charge large numbers of EVs,
Whereas EVs can catch on fire and can not be extinguished easily,
Whereas EV batteries can not be recycled and are extremely toxic in landfills,
We the people of the Red States resolve to band together to limit and ultimately prohibit the sale of EV's in our states by 2035. To this end EV sales will be limited to five percent of all new car sales till 2030 and one percent after that till 2035. Additionally no new charging stations will be permitted to be built and existing vehicle charging will face a surcharge of one dollar per kwh, rising to two dollars per kwh in 2030. In 2035 all charging stations will have their charging cables removed and be shut off.
I actually like this idea.
LOL. And funny, until you realize that it might be much more practical for the states because you are correct - we do not have the technology or the infrastructure for evs. Climate hysteria, not climate change, will cause the death of untold millions in the next few years.
i like the idea, but what’s red state?
Red States are the free states, like Florida, Arizona, Texas, all the mountain states, the Southeast States, the Midwest. All the places having conservative majorities.
I don’t know that’s I’d ban them, I’d simply not allocate any resources to charging stations. Let the market do it. And eat it in the end.
I oppose banning gasoline or electric cars, but I would support a state ban on localities providing “free” charging for vehicles. Our public library has this at a few parking spots. Let EV owner pay for their charges the way I pay for my gasoline.
I think it would be “shocking”! No battery fires? No huge drain on the grid? Why, it would have radical greenies crying in the streets and all muscle car owners moving to the red states. And hopefully running over those “street greenies”. I’m for it!
Exactly. In the early horseless carriage days, the feds not only didn’t build gas stations, many roads were privately built.
Let all cars be sold direct to consumer without a dealer, or don’t allow any to be. No special rules for electric vehicles. Have the equivalent of a gasoline tax for EVs, since they use the roads too.
Basically, find an electoral map from 2016, not 2020. THOSE are the ‘Red States’.
YES!!!
Why wait till 2035.
As long as hybrids are allowed, I’m in.
Demand there be free gasoline pumps next to the free charging stations.
You can’t ban Californians from moving to red states.
So, I guess this will have to do.
EV’s are
Because that was Californias deadline. It’s a parody of their law.
Everyone “assumes” EVs are better. NO ONE questions it, and all assume its simply an inevitable trend.
Better than banning EVs, it would take only one state - to mandate higher insurance rates, extra taxes for roads (due to weights) and fire response - to trigger a serious debate in this country.
Give the left a dose of their own medicine. Come to think of it, an entire movement can be driven using the left’s tactics. They have their green movement leading to communism. We can have a black movement leading to pure, unadulterated market capitalism. (Black, as in oil and coal). The left’s major tactic is fear. The world ends in twelve years. We can use fear too. The electric grid will fail. People will freeze in winter and roast in summer. People will die next season, not 12 years hence. Let’s use these pussies’ fear against them.
