Why Democrats fear DeSantis more than Trump
BPR Business and Politics ^ | Steve Hecht

Posted on 08/29/2022 9:39:43 AM PDT by Oak007

The Mar-a-Lago raid and hiring of 87,000 new IRS agents created by the Orwellian-named Inflation Reduction Act are part of the same agenda. Democrats, having failed to attain their short-term goals, are arranging to keep their totalitarian agenda alive through Republican congresses and possibly a presidential administration.

The widespread belief that the Biden regime wants to prevent Donald Trump from running for president in 2024 is mistaken. If Trump does not run, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis will be our next president. Many people would vote for DeSantis who would not vote for Trump because of Democrats’ and their partners’ seven years of demonizing him. On the other hand, all Trump voters would also vote for DeSantis because he has proved himself in Florida, and their policies are essentially the same.

Not even Rinos... worse... much worse... as in gates of hell worse.

That is what you did to me. That is what pissed me off. Edjumicate yo’self boy. Take your focus off of “Hand Egg” or “Toss De Ball in the Elevated Hamper” and discover cognition.

They probably fear Desantis, but they fear Trump much more, so that attitude of fear towards DeSantis is a planned strategy to mislead voters.

Bla bla bla bla bla.

So sick of Trump haters. Particularly the ones who deny that they are Trump haters.

Thanks! I’m glad he’s all right. The wording was “unforeseen tragedy” so it sounded like something that just happened.

They will run over the inexperienced DeSantis with a bulldozer.

Trump will bury the swamp with a bulldozer.

This reminds me of when W was ignoring the Rat’s calumny against conservatives. I pointed it out and was mercilessly flamed.

Or when I had the temerity to object to Sarah Palin being compared to Ronald Reagan. Reagan had a lifetime of experience: success in three difficult fields and a vast library of conservative speeches and writing under his belt, while Sarah was a newbie. I was almost ejected from this forum for that.

This place was a lot more fun before everybody demanded lockstep agreement.

I need to see a positive result from 2022 before I think 2024 will even matter. If the leftists succeed in sabotaging and suborning the system this year then we will have no meaningful vote in 2024.

Sen. Ted Cruz: Trump ‘Just Broke’ Liz Cheney
Newsmax ^ | Monday, 29 August 2022 | Charlie McCarthy
Posted on 8/29/2022, 12:41:27 PM by conservative98

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, said former President Donald Trump simply “broke” Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., who “decided she is a Washington, D.C., left-wing Democrat now.”

Cruz, speaking on his “Verdict” YouTube show, spoke of Cheney’s recent loss in the Wyoming Republican primary after she joined House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s Jan. 6 select committee as vice chair.

“There are some people who Donald Trump just broke,” Cruz, R-Texas, said. “They hate Trump so much that their mind went on fritz.

“And I got to say, Liz is unrecognizable. She has become a left-wing Democrat now.”

Cruz said, while he sometimes takes issue with Trump’s personal actions, he has been aligned with the former president when it comes to policy. That is unlike Cheney, whose remarks stemming from the House Jan. 6 Select Committee are “indistinguishable” from Democrat House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., or Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., according to Cruz.

“Trump came into power, and her mind just shattered,” Cruz said.

“Cheney’s circus act on the Jan. 6 commission is indistinguishable from what Nancy Pelosi would say. It’s indistinguishable from what [Senate Majority Leader] Chuck Schumer would say.”

“She didn’t just lose, she lost by almost 40 points,” Cruz said. “And the reason is simple – she doesn’t represent the people of Wyoming anymore. The people of Wyoming are conservative. And she has decided she is a Washington, D.C., left-wing Democrat now.”

Following her primary defeat, Cheney said she intends to continue her assault on Trump after losing in her bid for reelection. She added that she even was considering running for the White House in 2024.

Cruz told “Verdict” co-host Michael Knowles it was a “badge of honor” that Cheney had made him the “No. 1 person on her list” in attempting to defeat conservative Republicans.

I agree. Desantis has potential but he’s not ready for prime time. The election season for 2024 has already begun and to even begin to amass his war chest, he would have to kiss up the traditional big money Republican donors like the Chamber of Commerce and the Koch Industry who are perfectly happy with malleable pols like McConnell and McCarthy. Even if he could be elected and unbeholden to conservative special interests, he could not hit the ground running like Trump can do.

I would disagree...if they wanted Trump to run, they wouldn’t be pulling out the stops to smear him, both on the part of the Democrat Party, Deep State AND the Media.

It is inarguable that they are doing all they can to scuttle his candidacy. And I think for their self preservation, they should try that.

Or, at least I hope so.

Do you remember that in the early 2016 election, these same folks “chose” Jeb Bush for us, and declared that he had 20% more support than any other Republican candidate. So they wanted a Bush-Clinton match, with Clinton the chosen winner (won by a nose)..

Well, you also have to consider that it’s unlikely that the question was put to the DNC formally — “Who would you like to see as the Republican-nominee?” It is apparent that the FBI is pursuing a vendetta and, in my judgment, dragging the rest of the DoJ along for the ride. The DNC just may have to make the best of the situation.

Love Trump, but love DeSantis more. Trump is President in Absentia, as far as I am concerned.

Democrats don’t fear DeSantis. Trump strikes fear in their hearts because he was independently wealthy before he ran for public office the first time.

Nobody fears a career politician.

Yes, and they would do the same or worse to Desantis is my point. This could very well be the end of our country as we once knew it. We will know more after the mid-terms.

"I have no problem with DeSantis, but I will vote Trump in 2024, even if I have to write it in."

Please don't do that. The Demoncrats would like nothing better than to be able to split the conservative vote.

If by some chance Trump loses the nomination to DeSantis, I will be quite surprised but I will vote for DeSantis.

For those who think DeSantis would be more effective than Trump, I point to two Supreme Court decisions, Dobbs and Bruen.

Dobbs reversed the inhuman Roe v. Wade decisions. That alone earns Trump our deepest gratitude.

The Bruen decision has eliminated the "scrutiny" nonsense from Second Amendment decisions. If a law infringes the right, then it is unConstitutional regardless of any presumed benefit to the government.

For these two accomplishments we owe Trump. Our focus now should be on which perverse progressive policies we can now eliminate. Trump HAS delivered BIGLY.
